Re: Cookbook wedding favor
I'm not exactly sure of the details of how they made it but my friend in NJ gave everyone a homemade cookbook. I absolutely LOVED it, use it & thought it was the most creative & different favor i've ever gotten. I know it was a pain for them to make and I'm not sure how much it cost either. Sorry I'm not help
All I know is for her shower we each had to bring a recipe & a picture of ourselves. She scanned all the pictures we gave her & put our recipes underneath them and used a binding machine to create the book. A pic of the Bride & Groom was on the cover & they even created a table of contents. The best part was flipping through & seeing who submitted what. I remember one of the single guys submitted a funny recipe that said something like 'step 1-open package', 'step 2-put microwave on' or something like that.

Why don't you use one of those digital printing websites and make an album with pictures and recipes. Try shutterfly, snapfish or Kodak.
Thanks ladies..I was thking the same thing! Can you add text though??????? It would probably be cheaper
Yeah I totally forgot about this, my cousin to be made a book of her son and boyfriend. It was prof. binded and looked great. It depends on how many you need.

Re: Cookbook wedding favor
I am doing this for my wedding favor. I collected over 200 recipes from friends and family (it was not easy) and than sent it to Morris Cookbook Publishers. They did all the work. They type it up, edit it and send you a proof. I just received the finished product a few days ago and they are really pretty. I can not wait to give them out as favors.I would say if you do not need to order 200 maybe you can talk to them and ask if they will make an exception. If they are not willing to make an execption maybe you can do it yourself. Gather all the recipes, get nice cardstock to print them on and than go to staples to bind the book.
There is also another website called cookbook publishers but I think you also need a minimum order of 200 cookbooks for this website to.
HTH
I just checked the cookbook publisher website and it seems like they do orders for as low as 100 books. Their website is www.cookbookpublishers.com

We moved recently so it's packed in a box so I haven't seen it for a few months but it was like a half an inch thick and most recipes were only on one page. I'd guess it was a 5x7 sized book. She had over a hundred people at her wedding & most of them contributed so i'd guess there were close to a 100 recipes in it. I'll see if i can find it.

Wow how id you get your family to give you recipes without asking too many questions? I am asking for just cookie recipes (not sure if that's it) and I am gettign a million questions that I don't want to answer. All I say is 'You will see'
Did you ask for a pic too? How did you mention who it was from? I would love to see a sample page. We both have very small families and our book wouldn't be that bi9og especially if we add a cookie cutter and only ask for cookie recipes.

Re: Cookbook wedding favor
I think that is such a wonderful idea. I got my leaf cookie cutters from Jean M. For the cookbook do you have recipes from your and you FH families? You can type them up on the computer and go to staples or any office store see if they could make the family autumn themed cookbooks. I hope that I helped you out.

Re: Cookbook wedding favor
You had asked this awhile ago, but I know for a fact that kinkos charges $0.89 per color copy and so does office max. but that's for a whole 8.5x11 sheet.i think it's really cool that you're trying to get recipes from other family members. i mentioned adding family recipes to our cookbook to my FH and he said absolutely not, it's 'our' gift. LOL - men.
