Would you be annoyed if a friend who attended your wedding used your exact same bridesmaid dresses (same exact color, designer, etc) at her own wedding less than a year after yours? (and chose them after your wedding had occurred)?
She just sent me a facebook message:
'Hey love,
So... I have something kind of serious that I have to talk to you about. I was just looking at your pictures and realized that I might have ordered the exact same dresses for my girls. I think there is time to change it if you want me too... AHHH you have such good taste it is hard to follow your wedding up! Let me know what you think ...

I really want to tell her that it DOES bother me, but I feel like it's wrong to do so since my wedding is already over. i admit i might be a little extra bitter since this couple no-gifted us.

Yes, I'd be annoyed but flattered at the same time. She will be the one that will look silly if people notice!

I agree I would be annoyed. I may even make a comment such as.......those are the same dresses i had. I guess you should be flattered too. Did you say anything to her?

Keep in mind this girl and her fiance just got engaged, came to our wedding (from OOT) and then no-gifted us. I want to say that I do mind but I feel like it's wrong of me to do it...

I agree with a PP, annoyed and flattered. I can see where you'd be more annoyed but think of how ridiculous people that attended your wedding and her wedding are going to think it looks. At least your wedding was first.

Re: Copycat
I voted no because in the long run, do bridesmaid dresses really matter??? I just don't think it's worth wasting time being annoyed about. Unless you have something custom made, there are going to be countless people using 'your' dress, and 'your' colors. It's not family, it's all different guests, and yours was first anyway. I say don't even worry about it.
And the gift thing - whatever, that's not what weddings are about anyway - I don't see how that factors in here.

AFTER my wedding no.
But if I remember correctly, you were borderline obsessed with your BM dresses so I can understand your annoyance.

Re: Copycat
I personally wouldn't care- I love my BM dress! lol It looks great on everyone and I am excited to see them in action I would be flattered more than annoyed but that is just me. I would just make sure people knew it was mine first (evil laugh)

Re: Copycat
I would just think that she's gonna look silly to all the people who were at both weddings. I'd REALLY be pissed if her wedding was before mine. I would actually throw things around the room in that case. Don't stress.

Re: Copycat
I wouldnt be upset. I'd take it as a compliment. Besides yours came first so any guests you'll have in common can obviously tell she was copying you.

I doubt it was by accident but I would take it as a compliment. She probably looks up to you.

Re: Copycat
Truthfully, if it was a close friend yes, but they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I was just in a bridal party for a wedding where the bride and groom were in our bridal party and we had a few insistences where we felt like didn't WE just do this?

If her wedding was before mine then YES I would be annoyed. Since her wedding is after yours and she gave you credit, I would take that as a compliment.

Re: Copycat
its after your wedding, so i dont think that i would be annoyed...u obv had them first. anyone who was at yours will know that.

Re: Copycat
I think I would be annoyed, but I wouldn't make a big deal of it. In the grand scheme of things, your wedding was first -- its obvious she copied you. Most people won't even notice. And I'm sorry if this isn't politically correct, but I am annoyed by the no-gifters too! I know that's not what a wedding is about, and I understand when it is a true financial hardship, but when it is someone who truly can afford it, I think its downright rude.
