Would you be annoyed if a friend who attended your wedding used your exact same bridesmaid dresses (same exact color, designer, etc) at her own wedding less than a year after yours? (and chose them after your wedding had occurred)?
She just sent me a facebook message:
'Hey love,
So... I have something kind of serious that I have to talk to you about. I was just looking at your pictures and realized that I might have ordered the exact same dresses for my girls. I think there is time to change it if you want me too... AHHH you have such good taste it is hard to follow your wedding up! Let me know what you think ...
xoxox Jess'
I really want to tell her that it DOES bother me, but I feel like it's wrong to do so since my wedding is already over. i admit i might be a little extra bitter since this couple no-gifted us.

That isn't right at all. I think you should tell her how you feel.

Re: Copycat
I would not mind. I would tell my girls so they can maybe try to sell their dress to the girls in the other wedding to try to make some $$$$.

Re: Copycat
I wouldnt be annoyed. My wedding passed and people already saw the dresses I would be flattered that she thought I had such good taste. A friend of mine did a replica of my invitations and I helped her put them together happily. BUT if it does bother you say something bc you dont want to go to her wedding and have that on your mind.

Re: Copycat
I would DEFINITELY be annoyed! She's lying, she admitted that she has to fess up to you about it and is trying to cover it up by saying she just realized when she was looking at your pics. SAME COLOR AND STYLE??? Come on...that's pretty hard to achieve, there's millions of bm dresses out there. She definitely took yours. That ***** I'd be pissed. Honestly she no-gifted you too?? That's pretty ballzy of her I would call her out. She needs to be put in her place. Next she do the same flowers as you too.

It's a very common style, that doesnt bother me at all and if she picked a different color I wouldn't care, but I thought the indigo tissue taffeta was so unique and that's what bugged me.
I'll post an update in a second

Re: (UPDATED)
This is how the convo went after this post...
Me: 'i'm sure they're not the same color too, don't worry about it'
Her: 'the designer is bill or something and the color is a irradcent (spelling...) .. Alex's sister picked out the dress and showed it to me in black and I said ok ...'
Her: 'just fyi - I'm realy sorry if this is a mix up and I will do my best to fix it if it is a problem for you. Alex's sister Hillary picked them out and I (not caring as much) went a long with it and just got the color swatch in the mail. Please be honest and if it really bothers you I will seriously do my best to fix it...'
Me: 'being 100% honest... if it was the same color too it probably *would* bug me a little because i planned my whole wedding around my BM dresses which i LOVE and i thought they were so different.... but if you love them too i'm not going to stand in your way. if you don't really care though, i'd probably be happier if you picked a different color.
dont feel like you have to though, im just overly obsessed with my BM dresses :('
Her: 'first off, thank you for your honesty. Not many people would say that and you know me, I love honesty. I promise to look in to it, as I said before, I love the dress. I will call the bridal store to get a gage on the other colors and see if my mom/hillary/myself can find another color that would be just as amazing.
If we do not change the color, I promsie you that nothing else will be duplicated from your wedding. Thank you for being so understanding.
p.s. I totally understand the obsessiveness... it is an amazing dress! '
So... after she made it sound like she didnt even pick the dresses and didn't care at all (didnt even know the color, and said she just went along with what someone else picked) i felt like I needed to be honest. I really hope she picks a different color but it will be interesting to see what happens. funy that she 'loves the dress' now, when she didnt know the designer, color, and didnt even pick it out

Re: Copycat -- Updated p2
well from what shes writing to you, seems like she is willing to change it all if it bothers you. Maybe it was a coincidence, dont see why she would pick it, then mail you and say i'll change it if you want. I wouldn't go to the trouble of getting a bm dress, and then changing it right after if i knew ahead of time there would be a possibility i'd do this.
Personally, i wouldn't be mad especially since your wedding was first. When is her wedding? believe it or not most guests wouldnt even notice, they dont remember things such as bm dresses from a year before. And if they did, she copied you.
Seems like she is understanding and willing to change it for you if it bothers you. So thats a positive that she is considering your feelings.

I agree, she's totally trying to pass this one off. You are the bride, you are the one who decides the bm dresses. She has no input in it? Sorry to sound harsh but her story is total bull*T I don't buy it.

what IIIII don't like is this BS about 'If it bothers you I will totally change it....i don't care much anyway...they picked them out ... etc etc etc'
then you do the 'yup it bothers me
and she goes '....oh i ll SEEE what i can do to correct it...'
WHATEVER! she offered to change it , then she said she'll 'Look into' changing it!

Re: Copycat -- Updated p2
further more - ladies, wouldn't you feel like an *** on your wedding day with dup dresses!!!!???
like i mentioned earlier - its not like these are bill levcoff sable brown (and not thats not a slam - lolol i have the chocolate brown bill thing going to)
but THIS color? come on....i think that she just saw something beautiful and wants to have that same beauty. which is actually very flattering! i dont know - its your call. she's certainly not taking away from your wedding - you're already done. i just don't love that she didn't flat out just say.... 'listen, i LOVE what you did at your wedding. and i'd REALLY LOVE to get those dresses also. what are you thoughts on me doing that?' if it happened that way then it would all be a lil easier to swallow.
