Re: Cost of Blocking Rooms
I just had to guarantee 5 rooms. If 5 rooms are not bookd we have to pay for them.

there shouldn't be, and if they try to charge you (some do), don't go with that hotel!!! none of the hotels we used charged us

Re: Cost of Blocking Rooms
We blocked 15 rooms and if they werent all blocked we would be charged 1/2 price for all the rooms that werent used... They asked for CC # in the contract. WE actually had to call up and block MORE rooms because we had so many staying over.

I'm not getting charged anything. The rooms expire 4 weeks before the wedding and that's that.

Re: Cost of Blocking Rooms
We weren't charged anything. We have to cancel any rooms not booked a month before, otherwise we will have to pay for them.

Re: Cost of Blocking Rooms
the marriott in uniondale will hold 10 or more rooms for you up till 1 month before the wedding at no cost...if not all the rooms you blocked are taken, they don't charge you anything, they just don't hold the rooms anymore. in other words, have your OOT guests book rooms EARLY! that way you can guarantee availability.

Re: Cost of Blocking Rooms
We weren't charged, but it varies from hotel to hotel(not even just change to change because we were told that they did at the Marriott in Melville, but they didn't at the Marriott in Islandia, who we ended up using).

We weren't charged, but they only held the rooms up until 1 month prior to our wedding date. Then they released whatever was left over.

Re: Cost of Blocking Rooms
We just blocked 15 rooms at the marriot in islandia and they are not charging us at all. I know some hotels do, but I wouldn't book with them.
