I heard somewhere that you can ONLY use their house vendors is that true?

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club
as far as i know, that's only for the florist. but if you tell them you already have a florist when you sign the contract, you can get out of that requirement, i believe.

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club
when i booked last year it was only the florist you had to use...but from what i read on here people were able to negotiate that AND i think they may have changed it now and do not require using house vendors.

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club
My friend just got married there in June and she didn't use any of their house vendors. Unless they tell you that in your meeting or it's in your contract, I would do what you have to do. Don't mention it, unless they mention it. AND if they do mention it after you booked with someone 'play dumb'.

be careful with this...they did NOT mention it when I bookes. We were literally signing the contract when I happened to read the fine print. def ask and check over your paperwork.

Same thing here! That and the 'no outdoor cocktail music' were 2 things that my BM 'forgot' to mention to us. It wasn't until we noticed it on the contract did we realize it.

When you say 'no outdoor cocktail music,' what does that mean? my dj can't play music if we're doing poolside CH?!

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club
U cna have cocktail hour music; my contract says no amplified music, as in ur musician(s) cannot blast the music as lous as possible. Theres a certain decibel point they can go to, but cant be any louder than that. Ask your BM... they should be able to tell u so u can relay to ur musician,

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club
When I signed my contract, I didn't notice that my BM wrote 'no music' next to poolside CH. Later on when I did see that, I asked him about it and he said no music whatsoever for the poolside CH. I asked him if this only pertained to amplified music and he said no, all music. He told me that the only music they will allow for an outdoor CH is some guitar player that is a preferred vendor of theirs. I had my heart set on a steel band since I'm half Trinidadian and was so disappointed when he said I couldn't have it. I even told him that this is what I wanted and they wouldn't use an amplifier, just the drums and he was like sorry but you can't have it outdoors.
When I found out about this, I got really nervous for my ceremony music, which I was planning to have outdoors also. But for some reason, they allow us to have ceremony musicians, just not cocktail ones. Go figure! If one of you girls know of a loophole around this, pls share bc I would love to have CH cocktail music poolside!!
FutureMrsRuiz416 who is your BM? If your BM will allow CH music poolside, maybe I might switch!! lol

you are allowed to play music during the outdoor cocktail hour; it just cannot be amplified music.

FutureMrsK2012 - I am freaking out over here right now!!! Its a good thing FH and I r going to give our first payment at the end of this month. I am not the type of keep my mouth shut and u better believe they r gonna hear it from me about this and picture locations ( I keep hearing from other brides that they were not allowed to use the entire grounds to take pictures even tho BM told them they could, which is what mine told us too!). My BM is Tom.... he is a really good guy and we feel like he is doing right by us, but I'm gonna make sure of all this stuff.
Who is ur BM?

I would suggest looking at the grounds and picking where you want to take photos and having your BM add it to your contract. my bm told us we could go anywhere we want, and that they will have golf carts taking us around since they are on 20something acres of property....it was complete bs!!! i never saw the entire grounds of CHCC (booked in winter and only saw the pool area when i went for my final meeting) but my photographer was familiar with some areas. when they gave us the first place for photos (mind you they are all right outside near the pool) he asked if we could go to a specific area...they said no. so then i asked and was told they would look into it and get back to me. a few mins later they said we could go there so we did and surprise there was another bride and groom there so we couldnt take pictures and had to go back to our original location. also be aware that they only let you on grounds 2 hours prior to start time (unless you want to pay to come early - something like $400)...so you cant really wait around for another bride/groom to finish up their photos.

Thank you so much for posting this! So then, would you recommend that we go to another site (like OWG) for pics before? The main areas that I want to take pics are by the lake/gazebo (behind the tennis courts), the english gardens (where I'm hoping to have my ceremony), and of course poolside. I wanted to do a few indoors as well (piano, fireplace, stairs)

i dont know what owg looks like, but you will have a garden setting to take pics in...so paying for something similar seems like a waste...unless your photographer tells you he wants more than 2 hours for pics. i would ask your BM to put in the contract that you can go take photos at x, y and z locations. i didnt know the locations so i didnt specify anything. warning about poolside photos...the pool is open to the country club members so you cant go there for pics (well you can but youll have strangers in your photos) til after 6pm. our photographer pulled us out of the reception for some night time pool pics
