Re: Crest Hollow Country Club Brides (message thread)
Hi ladies,I saw a thread going for Fox Hollow CC, and thought that I would start one for Crest Hollow as well. Im not sure if there is one already for CH, but I had a few questions to ask:
1- For the brides that had their reception at Cresthollow, what was the overall review? Good or bad? Esp the quality of the food and the overall service?
2- For the brides who are in the process of planning- do you find that the BM are flexible and will pretty much give you what you want + some?
I was reading a most recent post on CH and the bride mentioned that they received a lot of extras from their BM--Im getting married next year at Crest Hollow--before I signed my contract I had to negotiate for a lot of things that I felt were standard at other wedding halls- ie Grey Goose Vodka. The BM acted as though they were doing me a huge favor. Although I had a bad feeling about this initially--I really loved the place and decided to move forward..but I was just wondering if any brides had experienced this before? Is there a better way to negotiate for what you want?
3- Are all the brides planning on using Crest HOllow recommended vendors? I remember our BM mentioned if we used vendors outside of their recommended list there would be fees. Just wondering how substantial these fees are?
4- WEre any of the brides able to bring in food from outside caterers? (for example ethnic foods?)
Thank you all in advance- sorry for the lengthiness of the questions! I appreciate the feedback!

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club Brides (message thread)
I got married at CHCC in May 2007 and planning took place mid- to late 2006 to early 2007. For your answers to 1 and 2, FM me. Overall, DH and I were very pleased with the site and service, but there were a few things that would lead to mark the site to an A or even A-. However, overall we were satisfied. I imagine though, if you've already signed a contract, it would be more challenging to negotiate for extras with any vendor.Re: recommended vendors, we used none of the recommended vendors and did not have to pay an extra fee. However, each of the vendors had to provide liability insurance certificates to CHCC. I believe for recommended vendors, these are on file, but for non-recommended ones, they must be updated for each event. An extra fee was never mentioned to us.
FTR, we visited florists that were both on the list and not. The recommended florist quoted us a price that the salesperson said was discounted because of the shop's affiliation with CHCC, but we ended up going with a non-list florist whose quote was quite a bit lower than that.
Re: ethic food. Not sure about this one, but at the minimum I'd guess that CHCC would need the insurance certificate.
Good luck!

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club Brides (message thread)
CHCC- brides and soon to be brides. Please help! My fiancee is stressing SOOO much over the menu. His big Italian family is used to places like Russo's- where they give you enough to feed an army.So he's worried there won't be enough food at cocktail hour; that the menu choices are going to taste bad at dinner.
Did anyone who was actually there have the meat option? It says its prime rib (which he's worried about the quality of the cut) but in the DVD it looks like filet mignon.
Help! Anyone have pics of the food, either at dinner or cocktail hour? '
Thank you! I don't want him to stress too much

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club Brides (message thread)
I'm getting married at Crest Hollow CC in 10 days!!!I totally hear some of your concerns as I had the same. Especially with one of the banquet managers, who I felt that everytime i spoke to her, she was doing me a favor by answering my questions/concerns. I felt that a lot of information wasn't given to me, and I later found out on my own, i.e. food tasting, liquor, etc.. If you really want a banquet manager that'll answer your questions in a timely manner and verrrry patient, I would recommend Thomas Reitano....he's awesome!
At the beginning, I was a bit scared when i booked with CHCC b/c I never knew about the 'premium liquor' issue-- I contacted my first BM and I was told that at an additional $3.00 per person I can be upgraded to topshelf liquor. Not sure how many girls are out there that knows the difference b/w premium and top shelf, but i'm not one of those girls, and at the signing of the contract, I felt like that should have been mentioned to me before since I had no idea what the difference of premium and top shelf liquor meant. Nonetheless....I must say CHCC tried to please me the best that they could after they knew I was upset. For the food tasting, I had no idea that crest hollow doesn't do food tastings, I only found out after I signed the contract, and closer to the wedding date when I asked, they said they don't do food tasting. Naturally I would have probably been miffed about it, but because I've been to 2 functions there before, I knew I didn't have much to worry about.
For the poster who's worried about not enough food...I'd say you have NOTHING to worry about!!!! I've been to two weddings at crest hollow already and I left there beyond stuffed!!!!! Especially during cocktail hour, there is just so much to choose from. Either everything is served passed/butler style, or there is someone there serving you and putting the food into your plate. The guests are not left for 'digging' into the trays themselves. I would recommend that the guests eat as much as they wanted during the cocktail hour!
From what I heard, i know that the Prime ribs is AWESOME!!!! I haven't personally tasted it, but everyone raved about it at the last wedding I went to.
You should always ask Crest Hollow if they're having any specials going on during the signing of your contract. When I signed, I was told that if I registered at Fortunoff, I would be given a free Martini bar....all i had to do was fax over my registry list, and I got it...I'm so excited about that. I also opted for the Chocolate fountain station which Thomas gave me a pretty decent price for.
I did not use any of CHCC's recommended vendors. I felt like I got a better deal at other places, and chcc did not have a problem with this. All they ask is that tell your vendors to fax them over a certificate of insurance. No biggie at all!
And last, a friend of mine was in the bridal party for a wedding that took place at Crest Hollow last week. She said the level of service from the staff that you receive there is EXCELLENT! No matter how much of a 'wedding warehouse' it's known as, she said she didnt even know if there were other events going on. That's how well they kept it organized, and they made you feel like you were the only bride there.
Sorry for the long post, I also used this topic to respond to an FM that a future bride sent to me...but i figured it would be helpful for all CHCC brides.
Good luck ladies!

Hey Girls,Has anyone ever had to go through the akwardness of changing BM's? Just wondering. I am actually considering this--I don't really feel comfortable with my BM at CH
