Crest Hollow Price per person

I just signed for a October (2011) wedding at the Crest Hollow Country Club for $86 per person, someone told me that she paid $60 last july. I thought july was a peak month, how come it was cheaper than October.
Can someone tell me if she/he had similar situation, how did you handle it with the place?

Re: Crest Hollow Price per person

a) the prices for last year are less than for this year

b) July is a peak month but Sept and Oct are now also peak time. I was definitely quoted more than $86 for my Sat night in Sept 2011 wedding when I went for a consultation in Sept 2009, so I'd say you're still getting a pretty good deal, knowing what Crest Hollow has to offer.

c) what day and time did your friend get married and what day and time are you loking to get married? The day of the week and time of day affect the price as well. A price in 1 month will not automatically be less or more expensive in another month.

MY quote in 2009 for Sept 24, 2011 Sat night was

Crest Hollow Country CLub:
Emerald Room
115pp (includes Viennese) with guarantee of 150

Re: Crest Hollow Price per person

seems that venues say now that Sept & Oct are their peak months

There are also other factors that come into play with venue pricing...
for example, there are standard increases annually and the person who got their july wedding for $60 pp may have booked it over a year or two in advance in which case CHCC gave them the current rate instead of increasing it. or the person could have booked last minute and filled a spot that CHCC got a cancellation on or something where CHCC just wanted to book a party?

I think $86 is a good rate for a sat night during peak season and unfortunately if you already signed a contract there is nothing you can do. if you didnt sign a contract maybe ask your friend for a copy of hers and see if they will negotiate (your friend may also be misquoting her amount)...

The person is someone that my boyfriend knows, i did not get the information directly from her, but i feel bad because it seems to my boyfriend that i got a bad deal. But now i am learning from the replies that many things can drive the price to go up or down....

Yeah, you didn't get a bad deal at Crest Holllow. That's a ridiculously low price for CHCC, espcially during the summer.

Re: Crest Hollow Price per person

Prices have gone up. If the person got married there in July of last year she could have booked 2 years before.

Also, does your price include anything that hers did not.

I know they just did a lot of renovations so I am sure they increased the prices at the same time.

Also the guarantee number effects the price. For example... if your guarantee is 100 people you will pay more than someone who has a guarantee of 200 people.

I was quoted $60pp for a daytime wedding on Saturday in July 2011. Daytime prices are much lower than evening. I got this quote in Jan this year.

Daytime meaning afternoon (4:00-6:00) or earlier?

that's what we were quoted for a daytime wedding on a sunday in july. our inquiry was made less than a year ahead, and some venues were offering reduced rates because they just wanted to book the date. there definitely are a lot of factors to consider, so unless you are comparing apples to apples, it's hard to say who is getting a better value.

Re: Crest Hollow Price per person

I believe we were quoted at 90pp with no extras for an evening wedding, I'll check when I get home, okay?

We are doing an afternoon wedding (a few hrs after yours actually!! ) It's cheaper and I really didn't want my relatives to go home at 1 in the morning!

Re: Crest Hollow Price per person

The time definitely matters and hospitality hour is usually a period of time where guesta can shoe up and receive light refreshments and champagne before the actual event begins... it's tot make guests who might show up early more comfortable
