Re: Crest White Strips
Let me know how it goes. I keep seeing the ad for it in my People magazine... I'm tempted, but my dentist said nothing O-T-C really can do it... I don't know if they're just trying to talk me into spending the $600 to have it done in their office or not... (which I won't be doing...)

Re: Crest White Strips
my dentist suggests them and says they are safe and effective. my best friend did them before her wedding and said they can really make a difference. Just beware if you have any caps on your front teeth, I've heard that they don't work on caps so that one tooth may stay the same color and the rest get white if you have a cap in the front.

Re: Crest White Strips
JPSgirl is probably right about the caps - but I did use Crest White Strips and so did my husband - they works. Believe me! My whole family used them before the wedding and had a whiter, brighter smile the day of!

Re: Crest White Strips
They have something new now that you actually paint on your teeth? It almost looks like a nail polish brush.Has anyone seen these? CVS always has them right up front when you walk in. I wanted to try...but with 3 weeks left to the wedding - I don't feel like experimenting!!

Re: Crest White Strips
I am using crest whitestrips and I see a difference. Sometimes 30 minutes twice a day can be a lot but I try to do them as much as I can. My FH bought the proffesional crest white strips for like $40 bucks off the internet.

Re: Crest White Strips
Did the strips make your teeth sensitive. I heard that sometimes it does and I don't want to do it too close to the wedding and then be uncomfortable. How far in advance do you do it and for how long?

Re: Crest White Strips
There's OTC white strips and there's 'professional' white strips available only in dental offices. The 'pro' white strips are about twice as strong, so you get more of the 'whitening' effect. I've seen good results from both OTC and 'pro' with my patients. Just FYI--the white strips results only last about six months, be they OTC or 'pro' strength. You may experience some sensitivity but that can be offset with Sensodyne (who makes a 'whitening' toothpaste that will help keep the teeth whiter longer). If you have questions, forum mail me. I'm a dental hygienist. P.S. Don't forget to floss!

Re: Crest White Strips
I have really sensitive teeth, sometimes ice cream is like torture.Anyway, when I tried the white strips, it made my teeth feel really weird. I can't explain it well, but they kinda had a dull ache. I never asked my dentist about it, but it kinda freaked me out, so I never used them after that first time.

Re: Crest White Strips
I am a Dental Hygienist also. Be careful using the strips. Do Not let them touch your gumline. You can actually burn off layers of your gums. Many of my patients had experienced a white film which is the slothing of your gums. Yes I have seen great results and not so great results. It all depends on the actual color of your teeth. If you have a gray shade you will not get the same great results as a yellow shade on the teeth will from OTC products. And for those crowns or veneers/laminates they will not absorb the whitening agent. For the sensitivity after you wipe off the excess gel from the teeth rinse with ACT. It works great. Any questions feel free to ask

Re: Crest White Strips
Oh by the way to avoid the sensitivity for your wedding day and to be able to enjoy your day with out that nagging brain freeze feeling from your teeth stop at least 1 week before your wedding day. I forgot to add to above post sorry .
