I dont know about Costco, but I'm pretty sure that Bj's jewelry is guaranteed to be appraised for 2x the purchase price. They have some very pretty things and I'm definitely going to check there when I start looking for a wedding band.
I have no idea why, but I hate Walmart. They NEVER have what I go there for, the stores are always messy and dirty, and the cashiers (in my experience) are slow and kinda rude. I'd much rather go to target or wait until the items I want go on sale at CVS, or cut out coupons in the Sunday paper.

OMG! The walmart by my mom makes me want to scream. i hate that place. but the walmart by me is always clean, and they almost always have enough cashiers on... it's crazy how different they are...
plus, mine is right behind Target, so if they don't have what i want, i go next door. it's fantastic.

i know that bj's and costco's diamonds come with papers; i dont think that is true of wal mart
With Tiffany and places like that, your paying for the name, its all a mental game. its for the girl to walk around feeling special b/c in America status and materialism seems to play such an important role to some women. There is no difference between a diamond sold at tiffany or a diamond sold at costco....its all about the 3 C's, regardless of what store the wholesaler shipped it to.....
And how about if instead of minding what store our diamond came from, we think about what MINE and what Country the rock on our hand came from....... the amount of child slave labor in the diamond industry is off the charts!!!!! Im starting to wonder why I would even want to wear a rock that has a negativity attached to it b/c someone who was basically forced to mine it is suffering and struggling just to livem while Im wondering how many carats I have and what 5th ave store it came from.

If costco has nice rings that would save money that would be absolutely fine! I'm not sure how I would feel about Walmart though.

walmart is a def. NO....i have personal issues with that place.....
however,
I BEGGED FH to get my ring from costco.....i found a really gorgeous 2.5 ct round with side stones for an amazing price and it really was a very gorgeous ring...and HE refused haha....he was like MY MOTHER WILL KILL ME!!!
To this day I wish he got that ring....i love the one I have, but he could've saved sooooo much $$

I completely wouldn't mind if it was from costco. They have fab prices and great quality rings. Plus, if anything goes wrong they replace it. So what's better than that!

I wouldn't mind. The rings are good quality and the prices are right, so why not?

I wouldnt care where FH got my ring from... it is not about the ring, it is about what it symbolizes.... if he would have given me a ring pop i would have been happy.
My mom has bought jewelry from costco and she just loves when she gets compliments on it and then she tells people where it is from... they are shocked!!! They really do have great stuff!!!

Wal-mart... I would be ok with it but would ask for an upgrade later on. Is that shallow of me?
Just stay away from the Walmart in the first place and there would be no need for the upgrade. The store is utter garbage.

I looked at Costco and the prices were great...but ultimately, Costco, along with most jewelry stores we looked at, did not look right to me. I really liked more old-fashioned styles and found what I wanted at an Estate Jeweler who really walked me through the styles and helped us pick out something I'd love. Also, because it was an Estate Jeweler, the cost was lower AND we didn't have to worry about where in the world the diamond had come from.
The added benefit is the personal touch we got at the Jewelers. For Christmas, my FH bought me a beautiful necklace--something I would have definitely picked out for myself. The jeweler actually pulled up a picture of my e-ring and looked for something that I would like based on that. She was definitely right! That's a personal touch you wouldn't get at Costco.
I really wouldn't have minded getting an e-ring from Costco, but I'm glad we got it from an estate jeweler instead, since we got a great deal, personal service, and someplace that understands my tastes and can help FH with picking out presents for me

I couldn't of said it better myself. Which jeweler did you use? I used Doyle and Doyle in Manhattan.

I used Joint Venture Jewelry in Cary, NC. We'll probably get our bands there too. FH looked to make sure that there would be a reasonably price band that would match the ring when he picked out the e-ring. Wish more people would use it, but of course it's in NC!
