Daughter to try gown on today!!

Fun Day!! Debi, one of her Maids of Honor, and I, plan to go to local Bridal Shop, to try on Debi's gown. Since she bought it when she found the perfect one, it's been stored. Today, we hope to see that it hasn't yellowed!! She doesn't want to buy another gown. We'll both be praying, and I plan to take some pics! Also checking if it needs alterations. The gown was purchased at Bridaltown, in Pa., and there's a story behind it, but Debi might want to tell that story.

Praise THE LORD!! No yellowing!! And tears came to Mom's eyes, as I looked at my beautiful Daughter!!! I'll let Debi share her story about her gown, but will add that about five years ago, Debi went through two very emotional events, thus making this upcoming wedding very special. One of those was the death of her best friend, three weeks after her wedding. Debi was present when life support was discontinued.

Debi said I could say a bit about the gown.
Her other emotional experience, at the same time as the passing of her Friend, Jen, was that Debi had planned another wedding, and the guy got cold feet! So, the gown was for another wedding, But Debi and I have always felt that gown was an answer to prayer, and while some of her friends questioned her using it for this wedding, we believe that THE LORD knew all along who the Groom was going to be!! There are other special details concerning the gown, but I really think I'll let Debi tell about those on their website.

I just want to welcome you to this site. My name is Laurie. I am fairly new to this site also. My daughter is getting married Dec. 2008. Anyway, I've been on because I'm looking for ideas on how to decorate my house outside for the wedding, since there won't be any flowers out at that time of year. Anyway, Liz was kind enough to respond by telling my that her other son had gotten married in the winter, and that when they left, some jerk broke into their house. So needless to say, I'm pretty nervous about putting anything up that's out of the ordinary. I do have a dog and a security system, but if someone wants to get in, then they're going to get in, no matter what. It's such a shame.

How are you? Tonight Debi finally got a chance to get on the '08 Brides Chat, so I want to be careful not to steal her thunder from that site!! What I already posted I asked permission.I'm glad you have arrived to the Moms site. It will be even more fun!! Liz has been a doll!! Maybe if I stayed in my own 'moms yard', I wouldn't get lost trying to find my posts, to see if I had a reply that I should answer!! The Brides Chat is really fast paced, but fun and interesting!! I like meeting people, no matter the age!!
I believe Deb was engaged in 2001, to marry in 2003, and the break was in 2002. I think Debi got most of her money back from vendors. And your Daughter? .... Mary

Oh Mary I just read this...how sad for Debi's friend. I agree with you Jesus did know who the dress was meant for so why not wear it. I wish her the very best and a long beautiful marriage.

Yes, this is really a fun site. I think that I'm on more than my daughter! lol. I have more time than she does, though. I think that if you go to forum mail, it's alot easier. If you put in to notify you when you get a reply, then when you sign on, it tells you that you have new forum mail, and you just click on it. I'm going to try and respond to you that way, and let me know what happens.

I live close to Sound Beach but my daughter is getting married in Mineola because it is her fiancees church where his parents were married and he made all his sacrements.
