I went with my girls to order their dresses this weekend at Davids in Westbury. I dunno what it was, but EVERY single person that worked at that store had such an attitude and did not want to help anyone. I understand its the weekend and its busy, but come on, a little customer service!
So after having a bridal consultant roll her eyes at me and yelled at me for not seeing a bridal consultant after asking her if there were any free dressing rooms, my BP and I proceed to go buy the dresses. We are standing on line where there are two registers. One guy was helping one bridal party while the other chick was chatting with her friend on the phone. The guy yells at the girl 'yo, get off the phone and help someone!' She yells at him 'I will do whatever I want!' (nice, right in front of customers) She then ***** her teeth and goes 'NEXT!!!'
Chick is still on the phone when she asked for my name and wedding date and after I told her the date she said 'Hold up, wait when are you getting married?' I tell her 7/3/09. She then tells her friend she has to call her back (finally)
She asks one of my BM for her name and size, proceeds to order the dress and print out the receipt. I took the receipt from my BM to double check bc I dont trust this girl since when she was taking my info she was on the damn phone....and of course she screws up.
The chick ordered the wrong dress for the wrong wedding. Turns out there was someone with the same first and last name (first name was spelled differently) with a wedding date on 7/3/08!! Had the chick gotten off the phone, listened to me spell my name and verify my number (i have a very common first and last name) and not just assume that the wedding year was a typo, then maybe we wouldnt have had that problem. Since my BM already swiped her card and had to do a return, the money doesnt get re-deposited right away, so my BM couldnt order her dress. Waste of a trip.
One of my BM did actually get to order her dress, so when the receipt was printed, my BM asked the chick when the dresses would be in, she proceeds to just point and yell, 'There.' My BM jumped at the way she yelled.
I am seriously thinking of just getting BM dresses from another store bc I cannot take the attitude. I am so afraid and nervous that the dresses will be all wrong. I double checked the receipt and made sure it was the right dress and color. We will see what comes in...
OK my rant is over ( sorry so long)

OMG! I'm so sorry that you had such a bad experience, but I can't say I'm surprised. I went to DB in Westbury with two of my BM's to order their dresses and I thought the service wasn't great (and the place was EMPTY) that day. If it makes a difference, all of my girls got the correct items in the end and there were no problems (right colors and sizes, etc.). The only minor issue we had was that one of the girl's dresses came in WITHOUT the peak a boo skirt and they had her make two separate trips to pick them up. Hope it works out!

Re: David's Bridal Rant!
Thanks girls! The only reason I went with David's is because I have two BM out of state and it was easier for everyone to get the dresses there. Also, they are cheap and I was trying to keep the cost down for my girls.

Re: David's Bridal Rant!
I also had a bad experience there... and truthfully no one should give anyone any type of business if they treat you this way. It's people that are willing to take this crap and still buy good from places like these that keeps them in business. And its absurd. I would never give anyone my business with that type of customer service... there are soooo many other places you can go to where they will treat you right. Personally i would have walked out... Oh wait.. I actually did walk right out of that store! Ha ha ha! I tried on a few dresses... HATED the customer service and left. The worker was chasing after me asking what was wrong... uh.. just about everything! She wasn't even helping me.. she was helping someone else and paying more attention to them. Most of the time i was standing there half naked waiting for a dress to put on.. and boy did I do a lot of waiting. Then when she did give me a dress to try on she threw it in the dressing room and left me to fend for myself! My mother had to come in and help me into the dresses... my mother who has no experience dressing a bride or doing anything like that. It was just soooo unprofessional. they way they do business... With all the waiting around i did I kept wondering why did i make an appointment? When i called to make the appt the girl on the phone had a big attitude and was like 'You know that's our busiest day!!!!'.... She was so rude on her tone! I have a way about me where I can throw it right back... so in the same tone... I said... well considering that i work all week... that's the only day i can make it there!
If I were you I never would have purchased the dresses at all. Part of sales is SERVICE! And if its sh*tty.... then no business for you! No one should pay to be treated that way!

Ha ha! Too bad David's Bridal isn't a lurker on this site! maybe they can learn something about what we think of their sh!tty service!
I have a friend who used to work at a hall.. and there was a waiter who got fired bc of LIW... there was some review where the bride told some story about a waiter.... and the story got out... the place found out about what happened and they let him go.

Re: David's Bridal Rant!
Did you get anyone's name?? you need to go back and see the store manager.. I had the same issue the first time I went, and then I went back just to look at dresses and met one of the salesgirls who was ABSOLUTELY GREAT.. and she took me to the store manager.. I ended up changing my registry over to her so that she could get the credit for it, and she's been nothing shy of EXCELLENT.. Let me now if you want her name.. I highly recommend her.

I had a horrible experience in that store too. I ordered my dress from the Lake Grove store and everyone there was sweet as pie. I'm sorry you had such a problem.

Re: David's Bridal Rant!
hate that store. I refused to go there. I've worked too many weddings and seen so many DB dresses fall apart during the night. Cheap, overpriced crap.
If I were you I'd try to cancel the dress order. You can find dresses comparable in price from nicer lines and better stores.

Re: David's Bridal Rant!
As a former (5 years ago) employee of that rat hole, I must say that it is one of the worst places for service and product. I find it hard to believe that this place is still in business after everything that they get away with. I agree with the other ladies, you should just cancel the orders, you have time, and get the dresses elsewhere, there's no reason you should have to put up with rude people, horrible service and sub par products for your wedding

Re: David's Bridal Rant!
I think you should call their corporate headquarters and complain.
Now I'm nervous about what's going to happen next weekend when I bring a couple of my girls in there. . .if somebody so much as says BOO in the wrong tone of voice, I am taking their name and calling corporate first thing on Monday.
I've been in there looking for my shoes on busier days, and NOBODY helped me. Actually, somebody who DOESN'T WORK THERE helped me find my shoes.
When I went to the David's in Lake Grove a couple of months ago to look for a dress for FH's cousin's wedding, I had to wait 20 minutes for the girl to come back with the right size. So, I had to walk around the store, clutching the back of a dress so that it wouldn't fall off of me, in order to help myself.

Re: David's Bridal Rant!
WOW! After all of that I would call and make a formal complaint about that store. You need to address the sales rep inappropriate behavior. Her customer service skills is disgusting. Then, for her to get the order mixed up is so totally unacceptable. I wish there was somewhere else you could have taken your business. Because after all of that I would not have given them any business.

Re: David's Bridal Rant!
Ugh I hate that store. I had a dress I was 50/50 on, and the woman started yelling (literally yelling) at me about how I needed to stop being 'picky' and start getting more decisive. Then she lied to me and told me the dress was going to be gone and never made again by the end of the week. I was in tears, I wouldnt ever go back there, yuck.
