David's Bridal Rant!

Original post by IrishBrideASmiling

So get this...

I went with my girls to order their dresses this weekend at Davids in Westbury. I dunno what it was, but EVERY single person that worked at that store had such an attitude and did not want to help anyone. I understand its the weekend and its busy, but come on, a little customer service!

So after having a bridal consultant roll her eyes at me and yelled at me for not seeing a bridal consultant after asking her if there were any free dressing rooms, my BP and I proceed to go buy the dresses. We are standing on line where there are two registers. One guy was helping one bridal party while the other chick was chatting with her friend on the phone. The guy yells at the girl 'yo, get off the phone and help someone!' She yells at him 'I will do whatever I want!' (nice, right in front of customers) She then ***** her teeth and goes 'NEXT!!!'

Chick is still on the phone when she asked for my name and wedding date and after I told her the date she said 'Hold up, wait when are you getting married?' I tell her 7/3/09. She then tells her friend she has to call her back (finally)

She asks one of my BM for her name and size, proceeds to order the dress and print out the receipt. I took the receipt from my BM to double check bc I dont trust this girl since when she was taking my info she was on the damn phone....and of course she screws up.

The chick ordered the wrong dress for the wrong wedding. Turns out there was someone with the same first and last name (first name was spelled differently) with a wedding date on 7/3/08!! Had the chick gotten off the phone, listened to me spell my name and verify my number (i have a very common first and last name) and not just assume that the wedding year was a typo, then maybe we wouldnt have had that problem. Since my BM already swiped her card and had to do a return, the money doesnt get re-deposited right away, so my BM couldnt order her dress. Waste of a trip.

One of my BM did actually get to order her dress, so when the receipt was printed, my BM asked the chick when the dresses would be in, she proceeds to just point and yell, 'There.' My BM jumped at the way she yelled.

I am seriously thinking of just getting BM dresses from another store bc I cannot take the attitude. I am so afraid and nervous that the dresses will be all wrong. I double checked the receipt and made sure it was the right dress and color. We will see what comes in...

OK my rant is over ( sorry so long)

Re: David's Bridal Rant!

That DB is the WORST I was originally going to get the BM dresses their also mainly bc my niece lives in GA so it would have been easier to get her dress from there. When i went it took half an hour to get some assistance. At first i was fine with that because it was a holiday weekend when everyone was off and the place was a madhouse so I understood. But then when we did get assistance the lady was absolutely rude. She really acted like we were bothering her!! I knew the exact styles i wanted for the girls. I printed the pics straight from their website. When i noticed her attitude, i just told her to point me straight to where i could find the dresses and i would pick them myself. She tells me 'I don't know where those are'. Are you kidding me!!! You work here and don't know where the dresses are? Anyway, my girls and i found the dresses. They managed to get measured (not by the same lady).

Now we get to the check out and the girl there was way worse than the lady we were dealing with first. She was so busy texting on that freakin sidekick or whatever. She would enter one letter in the system, then go back to texting, enter another letter in the system and continue texting. We were there for sooooo long waiting for her to put the order in. One of my girls was about to go off but i stopped her and told her I'll handle this. I then told the girl that I would be paying for all the dresses so to be sure to ring up all of them. She got the girls measurements, all of my information etc. We were literally standing there for 35 minutes (which was fine with me cause i had something for her) and she then proceeds to tell me the total and my response to her was 'Actually, I don't owe you anything because i am cancelling my order. Just by the look on your face I can tell that you are pi$$ed and that's ok. Now let's see if it takes you just as long to cancel the order as it took you to put in the order and when is all said and done, you make sure you text your little friend and tell them all about it.' Her jaw hit the floor and all the ppl on line started laughing. Her co-worker that was there taking orders also started to laugh. My girls and I walked out of the store. We ended up getting their dresses from village bridals with no problems. Also, because I filled out the form when I first went to try on dresses for myself, I have a lot vendors call me saying they got my info from DB and I tell them that i will not use their services bc they are affiliated with that company (not my true reason, already have my vendors, but it sounds good )

Bottom line, I would take the loss on the deposit if possible and go somewhere else.

Wow that is amazing..... I wish I would think of something that quick! Maybe it was the same girl the OP dealt with!

Did you get anyone's name?? you need to go back and see the store manager.. I had the same issue the first time I went, and then I went back just to look at dresses and met one of the salesgirls who was ABSOLUTELY GREAT.. and she took me to the store manager.. I ended up changing my registry over to her so that she could get the credit for it, and she's been nothing shy of EXCELLENT.. Let me now if you want her name.. I highly recommend her.

Well I actually registered in AZ when I was out there, so does that mean that girl is going to get the credit for my sale? If that is the case then I am fine with that bc she was helpful. Maybe I should annonymously submit this thread to David's Bridal

That's horrible! I would have spoken to a manager right away. No person who works in a store should ever act like that towards customers.

Does anyone know if one BM ordered her dress, if she can return it? She just ordered it Saturday.

Does anyone have an email address where I can write a complaint? Their web site is of no help.

OMG I cant beleive they treated you like that...I would have asked for a manager ( and I am not one to usually ask for one) but that was so rude and you or your BM should NEVER have gotten yelled at for any reason. Thats horrible customer service.

That is why I hate David's Bridal. Every time I have gone there I haven't been treated right.

Good Luck

I hope it all works out , if you are not happy try another David's Bridal.

hate that store. I refused to go there. I've worked too many weddings and seen so many DB dresses fall apart during the night. Cheap, overpriced crap.

If I were you I'd try to cancel the dress order. You can find dresses comparable in price from nicer lines and better stores.

their dresses fall apart?

Because people are triffling.... Diffinitly hating chicks......

Re: David's Bridal Rant!

I went to Davids Bridal on Sunday in Queens (LIC) and we had the WORST experience ever in there ... we had a 3:00 appt and was not taken care of until after 4 .... and the girl that was taking care of us literally was clueless... two of the girls did not know the size to try on and not one person in that store could measure them at all ... they dont carry tape measures there ... I am telling you .... I found a dress there that I tried on and loved ... but because of the service I left there ... RUDE was not even the word .... it was disguisting !!!!!!!!!!!! So they lost out on over $2,000 of our money !!!!!!!! OH WELL !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks girls! The only reason I went with David's is because I have two BM out of state and it was easier for everyone to get the dresses there. Also, they are cheap and I was trying to keep the cost down for my girls.

i'm doing the same thing. i have out of town girls and the price was right so that's why i'm planning to go there.

I know it might be out of the way, and I know you guys picked up the dresses already, but the Davids Bridal in Long Island City in Queens is amazing. I had no problems with them when i went looking for a dress.

Their consultants are very patient and extremely nice. Just some food for thought if you have to go back to Davids for anything last minute.

Me too!!! I've been there 3 times and one time the woman was a little wacky but not that rude.....

Thats horrible you should def talk to a manger....or someone. You shouldn't have to deal with that....

Some people are able to work with other people and others should be kept behind doors where there C rappy A$$ belong

I'm sorry you had to go through that. I have had good and bad experiences with them. No one was nasty with me or the girls i was there with, but they don't seem to know what is going on.

a girl's strap broke once but the major problem with them seems to be dresses with pickups.. I've seen pickups fall out! (bridesmaids dresses, not wedding gowns)
