Dear FH,

NO, its not fun for me when you invite people over with an hour notice. Why, you ask?

I have to food shop, I have to clean the house and I have to plan a pleasing menu for everyone while you sit on your asss. How about for once I invite MY friends over and YOU cook, clean and shop for them? EXACTLY. Our house is NOT a bed and breakfast.

Love,
FW

OMG, my DH always inviting his friends over and then tell me like when they are on their way. This totally freaks me the hell out at times. I need to know in advance not like when they are on their way.

Dear DW,

Why did you marry or agree to marry me if all you're going to do is complain about me to your online friends?

Your loving husband!

Dear Loving Husband,

Because somewhere between the altar and the couch, you managed to forget where the sink was, develop an aversion to laundry and your eye sight has deteriorated so that you can no longer tell the hamper from the floor.

If you were a dog, I'd put you down!

Much love,
DW

Dear DW,

That must be because I was so let down after all the dieting you did for our wedding day to look good for everyone else (albeit that included me too), however, after the wedding, your diet (and shape) took a back seat to the pizza box and cupcakes and it seems you no longer wish to look your best for the 'most important' person to whom you've devoted you life. What does that say?

Dear Groom who's not my husband (and doesn't appreciate any form of sarcasm):

How much weight have you gained since saying 'I do'? I know that I haven't gained a pound

Best,
Happy to not be your wife

Dear Groom,

I guess my heavier weight when you proposed was ok but now that we are married it's not?

Fondly-not your wife (thankfully)

Dear Groom:

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were able to see 'my shape' in the reflection of the television screen you've parked yourself in front of. Had I known you were looking, I definitely would've made more of an effort!

And as for my diet, it's mostly because you don't have to WASH A pizza box!

Affectionately,
wife

Re: Dear DH/FH --

Dear Wifey,

I've actually gained no weight and have actually lost some being that you have not cooked a thing after saying 'I Do'. Although you used to before we were married.

In all seriousness though (my wife is actually a scant 115 pounds) as I can see, this is going to start getting bitter so I may as well put a halt to it now.

That being said, I must admit my wife does not frequent these boards and I just find it humorous about all the complaining everyone does against us men when many, many women are as much to blame. In my marriage, my wife and I have a very open, loving and communicative relationship where I put my dishes away where they belong, I help clean, iron for her (as she hates to iron), etc. Equally, she certainly puts in her fair share of work aorund the house and we live in a marriage where it truly is an equal partnership. Sometimes she gives more than I, and sometimes I more than her.

Perhaps you ladies should think about simply picking the dishes up that the other poor, poor men leave behind. Aren't there much more important things to get bent out of shape about? (And don't say this is all good fun. While I'm sure most of it is, I highly doubt these 'complaints' have not caused many an argument in all of your homes). I'm sure if you kicked it up a little bit, many of your husbands and fiance's would gladly do the same... We do, after all, hate all the nagging, however, I have forgotten what nagging is since my wife rarely, if ever does it. We don't have the perfect marriage and we do sometimes get under each other's skin as will happen to everyone, but our marriage does work perfectly for us and people who know us know we are deeply in love and can sense what a great relationship we have. Try talking to your husband, not like his mother, but as his friend and lover. You'd be surprised what kind of message that will send.

My sincere regards,
The Voice for the Husbands!!

Dear Groom,

you are very wise. glad you cleared the air about your DW.

sometimes our DH's just don't want to put their dirty dishes in the sink or dishwasher (or dirty clothes in the hamper) no matter how MANY times we ask, nicely.

any advice?

Re: Dear DH/FH --

OMG!!!!!! I can't believe you just wrote all of that. You WERE fun for about a minute, but where do you get off coming on here criticizing us or our marriages - neither of which you know ANYTHING about!

And, it IS all in good fun. Many of us come on here to laugh a little amidst a stressful work day and being able to poke fun at the foibles of our relationships helps us to work through them.

So maybe you should take your self-righteous preaching about the state of others' marriages elsewhere!

Please, don't hurt yourself jumping off of that soapbox!

Dear Voice for the Husbands:

You don't know what goes on in our homes as we don't know what goes on in yours so I won't go into what your 'letters' implied about all of us.

Thanks for taking a funny, sarcastic thread (since i started it and I know that was my intent) that has woken up the NWR board and made it more serious than it ever needed to be.

Hugs!

Now, let's get back to those letters!!!

DH: Who will clean up after it?
DW: I clean up after YOU pretty well, don't I?
DH: ......(sounds of crickets)....

Love,
