from what i saw, they both are getting caught in their BS that they throw around. Obama talks about cutting taxes but Mccain points out how 94 times obama voted NOT to cut taxes and that he did this when running in Louisiana and promised the same things but never followed through
Mccain talks about healthcare and obama comes back and shows how his plan wouldn't work and mccain did the same to obama with his plan.
its like how do you even believe any of the BS they're feeding us
I agree and also they seem to be more worried about attacking each other than addressing important issues
Isn't this how every presidential debate goes? I've stopped watching because I get more confused and angry than anything else.
yeah most are like this, sometimes the other candidate isn't able to prove the person wrong bc they will not try to lie about it or sugar coat it. But it is typical, it does get annoying. They're just saying whatever we want to hear.
which im sorry but NEVER can happen especially now
i want to know how they plan on cutting taxes, especially after this 700 billion bailout give me a break. Cut healthcare, start plans on more green buildings and more programs to help our environment. Its not possible, its not going to happen. It never happens and our country is so much trouble now its even more impossible to do. As much as everybody would love to have all those things, our country would be screwed if we cut on everything.
well said, it makes me depressing plus scared to even think about

Re: Debate!!!
McCain was repeating himself and being nasty to Obama...he did not verbalize any clear plan of action to help get America out of this deficit! Obama clearly stated that by taking away the billions of tax cuts oil companies and CEO's get we can work toward improving the defeict. McCain doesn't thing ANYONE'S taxes should be raised...hmm let me see....that means keep all the same....keep giving oil companies, lobbyist, CEO's the relief while the average American carries the same burden? I mean give me a break...Obama is clear that he will raise taxes for those that make more than $250,000 and give cuts to those who make less....this will in turn help the deficit which will lead to reforming social security...
Basically what I got out of the debate is that McCain wants to do things Bush's way....Obama has clear plans of action that will hopefully benefit our country
The old way isn't working..I say let's give Obama a shot !

McCain is just the worst! I have never thought this way until tonight's debate....just the thought of having to listen to him for the next four years makes me want to run!!!!!!!!!
He had nothing else to do but simply attack Obama.......why is that? Obama remained calm, collected, and never even had the chance to give his rebutal. OBAMA ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its not a secret that McCain is known to have a very bad temper and thats not someone I want running the country. And McCain started attacking Obama from the get go calling for a response for Obama. It seems McCains only strategy was to attack Obama and lie about his policies. Obama couldnt stay shut on that and Im glad he fought back.

i hate to say this but i dont think either of them will help with this. In the first debate they had a few weeks ago NEITHER of them were able to answer this. It was so frustrating and everyone agreed that neither obama or mccain were able to actually answer the question and explain a plan they had to help our economy right now. ALl they talked about was how bad it is, yeah thanks we know this but how about at least one of you answer this question bc its pretty scary that neither can. When they were asked what programs will have to get cut in order to put this bail out plan through, again neither answered. They answered what wouldnt get cut which was just avoiding the question. Its bs what they say and i dont believe either one. How the heck are they going to do what they say when we are going to get taxed for the 700 billion pay out plan, and on top of that the bail out plan failed and our tax dollars just went down the drain for all this bs, so our economy is about to get worse. If they cut taxes, cut health care and all these other things, where is money coming in its just what the people want to hear but when we really think about it, its not even possible. At least be up front and honest with us

Actually...tonight McCain said that anyone who foreclosed should be able to refinance...or take out another mortgage for the depreciated value of their home......HELLO!!! anyone who bought a home saw the value drop....but what about US who never even paid theirs past the first of the month?????

Obama was clear on his plan to help the defecit which in turn will help the economy...I wrote about this in a previous post.
Obviously there is more to it than that but it is a detailed plan that calls for a change in the tax relief and breaks that oil companies, lobbyists and CEO's benefit from...BILLIONS...that will be put into our economy.
McCain clearly stated 'now is not the time for a tax increase' ummmm..... no one gets one? then how are we paying the defecit??? Obama does plan on raising taxes for those who make over $250,000...this will also help with the defecit and the economy.
He has plans, clear plans that sound like they are worth giving a shot...I mean McCain has nothing, nada, just attacks on Obama and the same broken record accusations that really don't allow me to see how he plans to help us.

McCains plan SOUNDS better for people who are afraid of taxes being raised. Obama's plan is actually realistic.

Agreed...FH and I both do well and would likely fall into that catergory next year when we are married obviously I dont want my taxes raised...but these are dire times...those who make more are going to have to pay more to get us out of this mess!(it is only fair ) I just dont hear a better plan!

Exactly. By the way discussions have gone on this site, I feel like majority of people are voting for who will be better with their MONEY. I feel like it all comes down to money. Forget about the economy failing, forget about foreign policy, forget about healthcare, I dont want my taxes to be raised and thats disheartening to me.

It really is...the thing is watching the debate I could not think of a single reason why someone would not vote for Obama...to me it is simple....if you like things the way they are then vote for McCain. If you think we need to change vote for Obama...hopefully he can help get America back on track...with McCain we know it's 4 more years of this and really at this point we can't have it, the risks are too high right now. Those who make more money won't feel the tax cut the way they will if the economy gets worse with no plan of action to change (McCain) and then we will all feel it especially as far as safety..less money more crime, NY will go back to being unsafe like in to 1980's it is just scary to me to support someone who will keep us on this current disasterous course!
