Debating on How much for Invites. What R U Paying?

I'm just shocked at the cost of invitations, even the ones that arent all that they cost over $200 for 75. Is it worth the expense, I'm going debating whether to spend $430 for invites that I did really like or $250 for Basic Plain ones that ar basic but classic. How much is everyone else paying for invites. If you are spending more for invitations - where are you cutting back to make up for it - those on a budget?

In all honesty, I am not going to go crazy with the invitations b/c face it, most of the guests are going to throw them away. I have seen nice ones for about $110 for 100. (Not counting RSVP's or anything)

Maybe someone will have a few websites for you to check out.

I think mine cost about $400 for 75 , with all the parts. I realy did notice a difference in paper qulaity with less expnsive ones

It seemed that a lot of the plain ones were MORE expensive, b/c they were on nicer paper, since they were plain.

Did you check out Party City? The one by me had a decent selection and they discount their invitations 30%.

We're keeping the budget low for invitations. I want them to be elegant and classy but I can't spend too much. FH just keeps saying 'people throw them out anyway' and he's right. They should be something that you are happy with but most importantly they just need to state the info for the guests. My vote is for the $200 ones.

Quick Pick (or maybe it's Pick Quick) Paper on Route 110 has invitations you can print yourself - they are really very nice!!! If you or someone you know has a really good printer you can save alot and still have beautiful invitations.

Go to Wrap with us

They have a lot of brands, Carlson Craft, Something Different, etc. at 25% off. I just placed my order thru them and they saved me a bunch....

I got the proof last Wednesday and they said that it usually takes 2 or 3 weeks after you approve the proof.

One thing they pointed out to me....that I completely overlooked (ok, I was a dummy). Not every guest needs an invite.... I'm having about 200 but only need 100 or so invites because a lot of them are couples.

We spent about $350 for 75 invites. The paper quality was important...some of the less expensive ones were so flimsy. I know people through them out...but I loved them.

I spent $333 for 150 invites, including the response card, reception card and inner envelope. I did not get the envelope printed with the return address. I am going to to do address printing myself.

I can't see spending more than $300, but it seems like thats the normal price.

Check out this woman from ebay. Makes pretty handmade invites for a great price. You can order samples first to see them in person.

Her ebay store:

I need to take pictures of my engagement party invite samples. I got 4 of them and can't choose!

Here is an example from that woman Laura from ebay. This invitation set is $2.48 and includes:
Invitation with envelope, reception card and reply card with envelope.

The matching program is extra and not included. She can do this in any color. I had the sample made with red lettering and red ribbon and it is beautiful. I will scan all the samples she made for me so you can see them. I want to help other brides save money on invites! So if you needed 75 invites it would cost you $186 plus shipping and no tax since she is in another state.

Those are very pretty.

Originally I had budgeted $500 for invites. But we went this weekend in the city and it looks like we are going to be somewhere between $800-$1000 for 125.
