desperate to find a reception hall!!!

we have been looking for over a month now and are completely frustrated. we are looking for a reception hall for both the ceremony and reception. we would like an outside ceremony and cocktail hour, but if it rains i would love a buetiful ceremony area inside. the only place i fell in love with is carlyle on the green. Future inlaws cant afford it, so now we are back to square one. we have looked at lands end, larkfield manor, sail harbor, watermill, north ritz, woodbury country club, millridge, swam club ... you girls get the idea. we are going to look at the lawrence country club and villa lambardi this weekend. does anyone know of any places that meet the above requirements between the prices of $80-125?? i need all the help i can get. im getting very frustrated. Please help with locations on nassau county or not too far out east. thanks girls!

what time day and month are you getting married that plays a BIG part. We are getting married at The Swan Club and John Anthonys was oursecond choice.

If you haven't already, try Vanderbilt Mansion at Dowling College (Oakdale). They are right in your price range and cheaper if you have your wedding 'off peak'. They have a beautiful courtyard for outdoor ceremony and an even better back up indoor site if it rains. And Carolyn and Lovin Oven are just plain AWESOME to deal with! (of course, i am biased) Check them out if you can! Good luck. and let us know what you choose!!

You should check out Thatched Cottage in Centerport. Its really pretty and on the water. I know they handle on site ceremonies too.
Also, look at Flowerfields in St. James!

PS - not sure if too far out east for you, but they are right off of Sunrise and close to Islip Airport (so good for guests!)

I think Fox Hollow has an outside cermony and cocktail hour. I know they can do the cocktail hour outside because mine is. I'm just not sure about the ceremony.

I feel bad you are having such a hard time finding a place!
Have you visited the Westbury Manor or Fox Hollow? If you are flexible in your time of day and Sun as opposed to a Sat night, they can work with you price and you can get it below $125 pp.

thanks for the advice girls- we checked out the fox hollow, and didnt love the rooms. where exactly is st. james - for flowerfields?
isnt the vanderbuilt really expensive because you have to pay for site fees as well as $80 a person.

Re: desperate to find a reception hall!!!

Try the Sans Souci of Sea Cliff. We got married there in May and had an outdoor cocktail hour. They do outdoor ceremonies as well (we got married in a Church so we didn't use that option). We paid $85 pp plus tax and gratuity (18%). We loved the place, the food was phenominal and the service was top notch.

FM me if you have any questions.

Re: desperate to find a reception hall!!!

we want a july 3rd wedding- which is a sunday , so most places have been pretty reasonable with that and not charged us for the holiday.

Did you check out the Westbury Manor - I am getting married there so I am biased!
I also vote for Flowerfields- it's gorgeous there but it was just too far from my church for me to go.

Thatched cottage is in your price range.

Re: desperate to find a reception hall!!!

Are you sure you can't get the Carlyle for $125 on a Sunday? I know of a few of us around the boards who had Friday or Sunday weddings in that range there... so unless their demand has grown, you may still be able to have your wedding there if that is the place you love!
