I *THINK* mine's an F?

I would go with better quality though, IMO.

why do you want to change it... i love your ring

Re: diamond color

i'd go with a bigger size (unless your current quality / color is crappy). Nobody would ever notice a change in quality - people get impressed with the size because they can actually see it.

Re: diamond color

why would you want to trade in what your FH proposed to you with??? nothing can replace that

why don't you just pick out the wedding band you want? i know my DH would be so hurt if i ever wanted to 'upgrade'

I disagree. You can tell when girls have these tremendous rings, but they look dirty and yellow. I am more impressed by the quality and sparkle and shine of a ring than I am of the size. Of course, size is nice to have to, but if I had a normal sized center stone, i would upgrade it for the color.

it seeems that we have almost the same ring, except my band is pave 3/4 of the way around. My ring is a D color.

Re: diamond color

I prefer clarity and color over size. Especially considering the bigger it gets, the more you CAN notice when these qualities decrease. I'd rather have a smaller colorless sparkly diamond than a larger yellowish dull one.

But that aside, I think your ring is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Plus, your FH gave that to you as his promise! Keep it

Re: diamond color

thanks girls...

im keeping the ring, just doing an adjustment

may not do anything at all...

Oh, I didn't mean yours! I was referring to the comment about how people notice size rather than quality, when it simply isn't true. Yours is lovely!

i guess i wasn't necessarily clear ... i do think size is more important than color and clarity BUT i wouldn't want an extremely crappy color and clairty for a huge stone. But as long as the color and quality are high enough that you can't tell what they are, i'd upgrade the size (i hope that makes sense ... if not, i give up )

Re: diamond color

I helped pick out my ring and diamond.
We agreed that while the size is not the biggest, it was what we could afford and the clarity is great. I don't remember the specs, but the center stones perfectly match the side stones for color and that was important.
He was concerned that it was not big enough. But I told him that I see no reason to buy a huge stone now, when there are so many other ways to spend the money. We agreed that the stone will be upgraded later in time (mostly to make him feel better, I think it is perfect), most likely at our 10 year anniv.

ita!!! i get complimented on my ring color all the time!! Its color D, im happy with the size as well... but if i were in your situation id def upgrade quality make SO much of a difference, youre ring will look bigger if the color and clarity are top notch

Re: diamond color

my color is D ...........unless you notice a funny color or inclusion in your ring, why would you upgrade for anything but size? if your ring is eye clean who cares if someone can see inclusions at 10x magnification...i'd go with size!!

but yea i just looked @ your ring, why are you looking to upgrade?

Re: diamond color

Honestly, your ring is very beautiful.. i would only look into changing the band IF ANYTHING.. the stone is a good size n already looks big on your hand..

Remember you want to be comfortable wearing it as well.. mine is 2.25 and its pear so it looks even bigger n although i get compliments everyday.. i dont wear it to school or to my second job bc i worry that its too flashy..
