Just out of curiosity..did anyone ever cancel their dress order? If so, did you lose your deposit and were you still obligated to pay the remaining balance??? Thanks....

I haven't, but is there any fine print on the receipt from when you bought your gown? Maybe it says there? Where did you order it from?

I got it from Bridal Reflections in Carle Place...I have to look at the receipt. Dress shopping has been the most difficult part of this whole process!

Re: Did anyone ever cancel their dress order?
i got mine from the bridal garden in bethpage. i did not call them yet b/c i don't want to have to pay for the rest of the dress. i have only paid the deposit that i willing to lose.
my receipt says.. 'this is a special order and non-canelable under any circumstance'. does that mean i have to pay the rest? they only have my name b/c they required cash for the deposit...so will they really be able to charge me the rest?
any ideas?

Re: Did anyone ever cancel their dress order?
I cancelled a dress order a few months ago. They did not refund my deposit, but I received store credit that I could use towards dresses for the bridal party.

It sounds like you will be obligated to the remainder of the order...not too sure. I wish this wasn't the case!

Re: Did anyone ever cancel their dress order?
You have a certain amount of days to cancel the order and just lose your deposit, if its after that amount of days most likely you will have to pay the whole thing. If this is the case, take the dress and sell it. Otherwise you may lose all that money and get nothing.

The dress is nice why would you cancel it. I think if youfind a dress in thesame shop they can do an exchange, but if you are going someplace else you are obligated to purchase the dress. It also depends on when you purchased the dress.

Re: Did anyone ever cancel their dress order?
I actually checked my receipt this morning and there is no way I can do any cancellation at this point, without being completely obligated for the full amount. I kind of figured this would be the situation. I had canceled my other dress and they worked with me then but I had to get the same designer in order for them to do it but this time they won't be so nice I am sure I am losing my mind over this, I don't know what is wrong with me

Re: Did anyone ever cancel their dress order?
I was regretting mine too because it's VERY simple. No lace, no beads....NOTHING. I starting wishing I bought an all lace gown. But then I remembered how much I loved my dress. Everyone said I stood differently, looked more confortable and glowed. So I stopped looking at dresses. I am done. There is no way I am giving up all the money I already put down.

Re: Did anyone ever cancel their dress order?
i was given a contract with my dress. On the contract it said that if you cancel the order AFTER the dress has been put into production then you will lose your deposit and if its already in production then yes you will still owe the balance. ...Rules may change from store to store so definitely read the fine print
