Did anyone look at NYC Venues?
I'm more than liking going to pick a venue on Long Island, but I also love the idea of getting married someplace in Brooklyn or Queens with a view of the skyline in the background. However, I thought Long Island was expensive.... but its really nothing compared to the prices I've seen in the city! Or maybe its just the places I looked at.Did anyone check out venues in Brooklyn/Queens? Or have any quotes, advice, suggestions, etc? Thanks!

Did anyone look at NYC Venues?
I looked at 9 places in Staten Island and 2 in Brooklyn. The prices are a lot higher in the city, although most had the same prices for a Saturday and Sunday.

I went to waters edge in LIC. Their selling point is the view of the skyline. If you want me to send you the quote they gave me for September and October of 2016 II'll send it over.

I would love you quote, thank you! I'm looking for October/November in 2016 so that would be perfect

Just out of curiosity, what were the 2 places in Brooklyn you looked at? I hate how its even more expensive than Long Island :(

Did anyone look at NYC Venues?
A friend of mine looked in the city because she only wanted a place with a view that was very loft like. Not sure about prices, but her top picks were Battery Park Gardens, Penthouse 808 and Studio Square. She ended up booking at Studio Square for next memorial day weekend. Apparently Studio Square is getting sold though, so their last wedding will be July 1, 2015. The people who own Penthouse 808 and the Ravel hotel are building a new venue that will be primarily for weddings but they couldn't guarantee her that it would be ready by next fall.

I've been to Giando's for a wedding and it was spectacular! Its actually the reason I'm looking for similair venues for my own wedding. However, the wedding I went to was for my (long term) ex-boyfriend's brother's wedding so I'm not sure if I want to be flashing back to that while I get married to someone else ;D

Thank you, that's great info! I'm going to look into those two places and keep an eye out for this new venue popping up. I also want a loft/raw space if I go the Brooklyn route.

The company I work for owns a beer hall downtown and they are booking a ton of weddings there. If you were interested check out Houston Hall. I can send you quotes if you wanted.

The ones that caught our eye would have required us to win the lotto first so after a few we didn't even bother looking.

Awesome - so glad to hear!! We are opening up places all over, there is one on W.26th St., one in Port Chester (Westchester) and our newest will be on 114th and Broadway. Though my boss told me he plans on opening another location October of 2015 which makes me nervous because I do all the store openings! Fingers crossed he chooses another month :)
