did anyone mispell someone's name on their wedding invitations?

i mispelled someone's name on the envelopes for the wedding invitations? is this really bad?

I think it depends on the person's name you mis-spelled and what they are like, know what I mean? We got an invite 2 weeks ago and FI's last name was spelled wrong, but not a big deal to us since we know what goes into the invite process, guest lists, etc...

Try not to stress over it since it's done and just have it corrected for place cards, thank yous, etc...no worries!!!

Did you mail it already?

If not you could put a label over it with a nice font.

Maybe you could go to a card store and buy 1 extra envelope.

Don't worry about it/ Maybe you can call that person and tell them that you realized it too late. Hopefully they will be understanding.

Honestly, you have so much going on right now that they SHOULD understand!

yes and no.

i mispelled a wife's name, Lisa...but it's really LEsa...but i was told this a week after it was mailed...and i mispelled a few others, but turns out it wasn't my fault...FMIL gave me the wrong spellings. as long as you get the 'close' people spelled right, it shouldn't offend anyone....especially if anyone has a 'weird' spelling...ie-Lesa instead of Lisa.

i did on a couple of occasions but all very minor and due to unusual spelling

Yes I did and I felt terrible, but I still sent it out. I had them printed and I couldn't change it.

I did. I spelled last names wrong. I was also unaware that many of the wives of DH's guests did not take their husband's names. I was not told that some were doctors. I dont think anyone was offended or anything.

i just got a wedding invitation where my name was mispelled. I didnt mind, except that it was misspelled both on the envelope & in the reply card, with 2 different mispelled forms of my name!!!

I don't think I did, but I can't even begin to tell you how many shower cards and wedding invites I have received with my name misspelled!!!

honestly, it was really all my fh's fault.
as much as i love him, i cant stand the way he patronizes me sometimes....

he sent me his guest list in the most random way, in little tidbits over the course of time, even after he sent me his 'supposedly' completed list. Well he gave me this particular last name over the phone, and i asked him to spell it out ' P as in Peter, S as in sam, etc ' and he acted like I was a freak for asking him to do so. Then today he asked me to send out another shower invitation with this particular last name, and i realized it was spelled differently than how i spelled it on the wedding invite! I flipped on him and made him apologize for making my work so much more difficult then it has to be

anyways, the invites are all printed and mailed, i guess i am just venting....

It usually IS the guy's fault.

I did, and I'm not sweating it!!! I don't think it's a very big deal. They'll get over it

Oh my goodness, I am sure that we mispelled a few. I think everyone knows that there are sooo many invites that have to be sent and not everyone's names can be spelled right. I wouldn't be offended.

just found out a few minutes ago that one guest from Fhs side's name is Elvin, not Elvis-as FH told me... SO his will be wrong

a couple- fils have lots of friends whose name is some form of allen,allan, alan
we got a few wrong (we copied from the list she gave us...)
but not a big deal...

Nope, it happens!
If anything, pay attention to the response cards cause they normally end up correcting you for furture references ex: Table cards
