Did anyone register yet?

I just got engaged on Fri but I already have family saying they are not getting us anything until we register!

So I ask...did anyone register yet? And if yes, how long did you wait after you got engaged?

Oh and we have a brand new apartment so we're in desperate need of things!! We weren't allowed to move in together until after the engagment

we didn't register yet but then again we just got engaged friday too! But i'm sure we will at some point! good luck and congrats!!

not to mention we had an apartment but weren't allowed to move in together until we got engaged so we've been living together since fri

No I have not registered because we are not doing that whole register thing. We both been on our own since the age og sixteen and both have our own apartments. I think you all should have a house warming.

No, registry announcements only get sent out in bridal shower invites (if someone else is throwing it for you)...

Spread it word of mouth...

yes this is very true...you can't send your registry info yourself...the only time is when someone is throwing you a bridal shower and they put the info then it is fine...Otherwise like she said, only word of mouth

Yes, i registered at just one place for now bbb...I have my engagement party coming up and someone asked if i am registered, so i decided to register just in case somebody does ask and to give them that option.

I on the other hand, do not want gifts for the e party, we need cash baby!!! We're paying for all this stuff, and just do not need gifts right now. We've lived together and basically hav everything! But we are going to register for sheets and stuff when it gets closer to the wedding! Hopefully we'll have a house by then!

the week after we got engaged literally my family was all where are you registered and all that people told me not to register until after our engagement party if you're going to have one that way you'll get money instead of gifts....so since im lazy and didnt have that much time with work and everything i ended up not doing it (still haven't but its next on my list after the dress lol) and we got allot of $$$$$ some of my family like my grandpa and my aunt still got us gifts and i got really pretty toasting flutes and a cool picture frame for our invitaion and wedding photo and other people gave us gift certificates to like bed bath and beyond so i hope that long widned story helps!

i registerd after i got engaged at macys, fortunoff, & BBB- it worked out for our engagement party b/c we had a few gifts from our registry!

I didn't register yet for two reasons:

1) We don't live together yet and we have no where to store everything

2) We would rather get money for the e-party so we can use it towards the wedding

We're going to register sometime before the bridal shower.

We registered but only for a few things. We are registered at Bed bath and Beyond and also want to go to FOrtunoffs.

We have changed our mind on some items so maybe we did register to soon.

We are almost done with our registering. We did it a month after getting engaged. The reason we did it early was b/c we didn't want people to get us gifts that we didn't want. This way people know what you want, and the registry can be updated anytime. We registered at BBB, pottery barn, crate and barrel and fortunoff

We got engaged in April and registered in may. We had our engagement party in JUly so people were asking what to get us. We just put vases and crystal bows and things like that. You can register at any time. Just keep updating it. A lot of things get discontinued so just check that those items are still available later on.

people kepy asking me if i was registered yet and so i did in May (like a year and a half before the wedding) and now im changing alot of stuff. plus for christmas people got us stuff that they didnt know we registered for so its from a different store and now i have to remove all that from my registry too. Maybe just register now for teh stuff you need for the apartment and wait for other things (liek your China and all that)

i registered a while ago and i am really glad i did since i got A LOT of stuff for my birthday and christmas

people are complaining since the stuff i registered for is no longer in store ( a lot of stuff is online) but you know what? that makes me even more glad that i registered bc i got to see it in person and i LOVE all my china and crystal and stuff and i will just go a few months before to add stuff that people can buy in store!

as for towels and bed stuff - i have all that already ( lol we are italian and a little crazy with that stuff) but i would also suggest waiting to register for that stuff.

I haven't registered yet and I don't plan to for awhile. We're not having an e-party because my parents offered us money instead of throwing us a party, which was very generous of them. And we figure the wedding is enough of a party for us, we'd rather save the money.

We arent living together until married either. I registered when the engagement party invites went out. You just want to be sure that you are registered by the time of your enagement party if any.

im not going to register until next summer ....we have so much since we already live together ...i want to so bad but i know a lot of stuff will get discontinued
