I just got engaged on Fri but I already have family saying they are not getting us anything until we register!
So I ask...did anyone register yet? And if yes, how long did you wait after you got engaged?
Oh and we have a brand new apartment so we're in desperate need of things!! We weren't allowed to move in together until after the engagment

I didn't register and i've been engaged since july...I think its a little too early..but if you know of a store and see things you like already its not too soon

We haven't registered yet mostly because we have no where to put everything once it starts coming in. Within the next 6 months we'll probably start to register.

I might start to register within the next month or so.
we have plenty of room in our house to keep stuff.

I registered immediately after getting engaged b/c FHs family pushed it. So I registered BUT kept my registry private.
I opened it now, I don't think it's too early. It's a matter of preference. I registered for China and pots and pans - stuff that I won't change my mind on.....

No, registry announcements only get sent out in bridal shower invites (if someone else is throwing it for you)...
Spread it word of mouth...

Originally we were going to have an engagement party so we registered. I didn't have a party because I was expected to plan it and I didn't have time so we just got a generous gift from our parents. We registered at BBB.

We did... we went to Fortunoffs, and spent a few ours of quality time with their scannng gun. It was fun!

We registered at bed bath and beyond, and we got a ton of stuff off our registry. I'm really glad I registered early, the registry is not too long because we plan on doing a more extensive one at a different store in september (a year before the wedding). It's really up to you, it sounds like you need to register if you're in a new apt and need stuff.

At BBB I did the china and cooking stuff. At another store I'll do the linens. But I'm waiting until closer to the date.

Just to let you know, bed bath and beyond offers to open early or stay open late so you can register without the hassle of other shoppers in your way!

Sorry to barge in but im nosey lol wanted to see where you gals were at with planning anyway you can register now if you want but i would suggest waiting until 3or 4 mnths before your wedding to register for bedding,linens , and towels b/c they discontinue alot of those things after a couple of mnths thats what they told me otherwise happy registering
