I might start to register within the next month or so.

we have plenty of room in our house to keep stuff.

Just havnt gotten around to it.

When you send out e-party invites or engagement annoucements or save the dates do you write where you are registered so people know?

no, YOUR bp & FAMIL;Y WILL TELL, AND they give cards to put in shower invites... niot sure if / where your wedding website is, but mine has a link to my registry

Re: Did anyone register yet?

We were engaged in mid September and we registered about 2 weeks later. We had our engagement party at the end of November and enclosed registry cards with the invites.
We registered at BBB, Fortunoff and Macys. All 3 stores told us to hold off registering for the bedding and bath towels so they won't be discontinued before the wedding.

For the holidays and my birthday we both received quite a bit off the registry. For us it was better to register sooner! Good Luck with it!

Re: Did anyone register yet?

The first thing I did was register. I was engaged the second week of June and I registered the end of June beginning of July. I registered at Fortunoff and Bed, Bath and Beyond. Although, I did work at Fortunoff for 3 years so I kinda knew what I wanted to register for and that is why I did it so soon.
Some people wait until after their engagement party to register so that they get money at the party. But a lot of guests prefer to give gifts so you might as well register!

Most people will give money at your engagement party...But its good to be registered, i got some things for x-mas, not typical home things either but things i can use now, glad i registered for misc stuff not just kitchen and bath and bedroom type stuff.

Also for example my MOH said she is giving money and buying a little something off the registry, so some people do that too.

im not having an engagement party, some people still buy engagement gifts, so i thought it was a good idea to register

My FH and I registerd a few weeks after we got engaged but at the same time we havent told anyone. We only registered for our china and things we know that we really want.

Registering is fun but it takes a long time. I registered at BBB but I am also thinking about registering at Fortunoff. I know that BBB has the beest return policy and treat the brides really well but I dont know about Fortunofff....

Anyone?

We had an engagement party and it didn't even occur to us to register. We made mad money though and it helped put our deposit down on our RH. We registered for the holidays and started receiving things as gifts.

i registered at fortunoff because they were significantly less expensive on my china than macys and bloomies - thats about it from me!

Re: Did anyone register yet?

Registered months ago at Macys then target when it was slow at work. I did everything online just went to the store one weekend with fh to make sure we liked our everyday plates. I have since deleted my target registry for bed bath and beyond.

I have had to update it three times due to things being disconntinued and will do so until Sept. when my mom says i am forbidden to look at the list or change anything on the list from then on. I think my bridal shower is going to be in Oct.- Nov. because i mentioned it would be tough to have it in dec, jan unless she did it in feb. She said something to the effect i am not allowed to view the list after sept and that it will be a suprise and she wouldn't do it around xmas.

We're registered at BBB, Fortunoff, and Macy's as we have a big family. Our e-party is this weekend and I keep sneaking a peek as items get purchased. I usually love surprises, but I just can't seem t stop mysef from looking

I believe you have 6months or a year after your WEDDING DATE to return anything from your registry (so make sure your listed wedding date is accurate) at Fortunoff. And it has to be on the registry. So many guests don;t like what people put on their registry so they just get whatever they want and then the bride is screwed if she doesn't have a receipt. It is important that even if the gift isn't on the registry that the person buying has the registry number scanned when they are buying so that it is listed that someone bought it for you.
Fortunoff just changed owners so I am not sure what the exact poilcy is now but I used to do bridal returns when I worked there and they tried to be strict. THe problem is if you register in 2006 and get married in 2009 there are things that they may not carry anymore, so they don't want to take them back! A lot of people get gifts and put them in storage until they have a house and then it has been too long to return them. So, becareful!!! They have great employees and in general everyone there is very nice, if you are nice they will be nice to you!
There is nothing like getting yelled at by an angry bride on your 8 hour shift!

Is that too much information?
ETA: they give you really great extras when you register there: $100 off NYSC personal traniner, free makeup trial at Maximus Salon, gift certificate toward a travel agent to help with your honeymoon and tons of free magazines!
