O, I thought most of the brides here posted that they were annoyed at what Z100 said.... but they chose to read the few that agreed with them!

I know I was following it since yesterday. It is so dumb that they would even consider saying something like that. If it's your Wedding and your friends, family, etc.. want to be there, they will be there. There are plenty of Holiday weekends ahead and I am sure that your Wedding would be more important to them then going to the Hamptons or wherever.

People DO complain if a wedding is on a holiday weekend, not on a Saturday, etc etc
But when it comes down to it, the people who are REALLY important to the two of you will be there and the people that want to share your day will be there and thats all that matters...

People will always have opinions about weddings- why did you pick july? its too hot -why did you pick december its too cold- why holiday why fri? why that sat- the list goes on- we cant please everyone- besides its your wedding- do your thing girls- your weddings will still rock!!!

I have to read this thread.
I picked to have mine on a holiday weekend so family would have more time to travel, and we can make more events for the family during the weekend. I've got nothing but praises and excitement from the family.

thats EXACTLY what i posted on the BHB site Ppl tend to forget that a wedding is to celebrate the love and a new chapter between two ppl - and when it comes down to it, thats ALL that matters... so whether its on the hottest day of the yr, or the coldest day of the yr, a fri, sun, tues night, holiday weekend, etc. - the ppl that mean the most to you and truly love will make an effort to go to your wedding - and they will be there bc they love you and want to share the joy you have - regardless of ANYTHING

Its true and maybe some people won't come (like extended family or parent's friends that don't really care) - but your closest friends and family will be there - so what else matters?
PLUS, Nina you make a good point, the wedding makes for a GREAT party weekend!
