Did anyone stiff you at your wedding?

My Aunt (who has money coming out of her eyes and ears) gave my mom $25 dollars (and my AUnt brought her husband, her three step-children and two of her grandkids) My mom gave her two years before at my AUnts wedding $1000 as a gift. Can you say cheap-o stiff-o. My grandmother who doesn't have a pot to pee in and is my dad's mom (my dad passed on when I was 13) gave my mom $100. My mom just LHFAO! and said well I see where I stand with my sister.....

one of my friends groomsmen gave a bounced check. they tried to cash it and got penalized with a fee.

try 12 people that gave NOTHING...no card, no acknowledgment, nada....and some came with guests!! don't get me started

That's just the half of it ready for this...this will make you happy for the family that you have...my mom lent one of her brothers and her sister a combined $25,000 to help them out....recently we fell on some hard times so she asked kindly if they could help her out...you can guess their answer and you can guess that they haven't talked to her since. Of course there's a lot more to the story that would make you want to find them and get the money for her but that's a whole thread of its own.....

what's wrong with people?!

The best man at my MOH's wedding never gave them anything. He is the DH's childhood friend.

What really annoys her is that he keeps telling them that he forget, keep forgetting, etc.. She just want him to shut up. She is about to celebrate her 1st anniversary.

My brother got married a few years ago, and invited an OOT cousin, who couldn't afford to come. My mom, my sister and I chipped in to fly her, her husband and her son from FLA to NY to attend the wedding.

They didn't give a gift, which was fine, they didn't have any money. But a card? Come on. That's the least they could have done.

I was talking with a friend that had a number of people stiff her at her wedding.

My brother also had a couple people stiff him. One person put $30 cash in the card and another person gave him a card but the card had nothing in it and wasn't signed. It only said 'Best Wishes.'

Maybe I'm just mean... but I would be pi$$ed!

Your thoughts??? Any stories???

WOW they could have went to the Dollar store and got a card ... Thats bad ...

I had a couple of people say they were coming with a guest, not show up, and then not give me even a card afterwards.

One of these persons is my secretary.... needlesstosay, I am not as friendly with her and she knows it (and mentions it all the time).

It is not whether a person gives you enough $ to cover the plate. But when someone is COMING to your wedding and then never gives you a card or a gift, you know they never were going to.

Still gets me upset!
