ask your dad's permission? MY dad (who I'm not close with) is mad that FH didn't ask his permission, just wondering if any one still does that?

my FH went that morning to ask my dad, he said to my dad im here to ask for your daughters hand and my dad said what, took FH a couple times to get my dad to understand

haha! that's what would happen to me..he would prob say 'um, ok then go ask her...'

my dad kept sayingout loud 'my daughters hand in marriage, he couldnt understand what FH was asking, FH said he was trying not to laugh....dad's are too much

My FH asked my older brother. I am close with my father but my FH was more worried about my brother (he is my bodyguard).

Ed asked my dad the week before he past away. It was really important to him that he was able to ask before he past away

My dad passed 8 years ago so Fh asked my mom.

My FH did ask my father's permission... and for Mom's blessing. He was definitely very traditional in that regard, which was sweet. He also showed everyone my ring and let them in on how he was going to propose! I am very close with my family, so it was sweet of him to think of everyone else that is in my life.

Mine didn't either...this might sound odd but we had the hall booked 1 month before he proposed!

That doesn't sound weird we booked our hall and a few of our vendors in july and we got engaged in the end of nov and both our families already knew
He asked both my mom and my dad, not that I felt it was needed,

FH asked my parents and they didn';t give an answer until they dropped us off at the airport...(he proposed at WDW)...FH popped his head back in the car and they finally said it was oK!
