My FH asked my father. But - don't worry about your situation. Hopefully, you dad will realize that it wasnt a personal snub or anything. Your FH most liikely dindt feel comfortable asking your father because like you said - you're not very close with him. I don't blame you FH for his decision.

My Father Passed away when I was 11, but My mother and I are very close...
He actaully asked my mother for permission... and she said...
'Ummm obviously... You guys are alreday married in my mind... there is no way that you two cannot be together... there is just no way'
I thought it was so cute that he thought of even asking her...

My fh asked my dad for his blessing. My mom told me when we first started dating seriously that if and when it was going to happen he would have to ask my dad. My dad is very old school italian and also thought if it was going to happen that he would have to ask. So i basically made sure he would ask. Now a days it isn't so traditional to ask the parents. I wouldn't worry. For now, I say just enjoy your engagement and planning. In time i'm sure he'll forget and be there for you.![]()

My FH asked my dad's permission. It is actually funny. He went to where my dad works and he asked my dad and my dad said to him very seriously, 'Mike, we don't believe in divorce...but it's Melissa we are talking about here, so I would understand.'
