Did you ever move with your office?

Original post by tourist

To another floor, another building, another state?
Was it a huge PITA?

How much extra work did it create for you? How far in advance to you prepare for the move?

it wasn't far, but yes, we moved from westbury to plainview - it suc*ed out loud!! we had to pack all our sh!t and they came and moved it for us, which was fine. i just hated packing everything

We haven't even started packing & it already ***** out loud. We have to purge things that haven't been touched in 20 years.

that was part of our problem too...we had our corp office come to help us....that kind of helped....but it still *****, not matter how you look at it

You think moving an office in general suks? Try working in the IT/computer department and you have to move the actual entire computer NETWORK to the new office.

Major coordinating pain in the A--!!!! I would rather just move a bunch of boxes and files anyday.

I've done a few moves....3x to a different floor and we had to pack up our own files and desk (then people physically moved the boxes to another floor) but WE had to unpack & reorganize.........NOT FUN! Thankfully one company basically allowed us a full day to just move and even our vm said, we're in the process of moving floors...

Another time our office moved about 3 miles to a new location. Again we had to pack our files/draws. Thankfully that time there were problems w/ the phones & we had none for a week (which enabled us to do what we had to do). That was an internet company, I felt the worse for our IT dept, they had it the worst!

IT'S the WORST, I totally feel for you.
