I SUCK at cooking. Probably because my husband is a culinary FIEND and LOVES it so much. And I must say he's kind of critical shen I do 'give it a shot' - but I wish that would not discourage me so much! I can make a few things ok, but I just wish I would enjoy it more and try again when I fail.
Did you all know how to cook when you got married?

Re: did you know how to cook?
Yes, I knew how to cook when I got married. Basically, I lived by myself for almost 8 years before I moved in with DH and during those 8 years I cooked for myself. There were some dishes I made that I wouldn't feed to a dog! Anyway, I learned how to cook by practicing. Now, I gained enough confidence that if one of my meals stinks, I will tell DH to just order pizza! One thing you can do (that I'm trying to do with DH) is cook together. Not only is it fun, but if the meal bombs, you can blame your DH/FH!

Re: did you know how to cook?
I love to cook but it took me a while to learn. My MIL used to come over every Wednesday to teach me! Now that woman can COOK! I can't bake at all but I can make a hell of a dinner!
I was ok before...but got better when we moved in together...and had a better kitchen...
but I definitely like baking better...I am very good at it (my waist line proves that) and have been doing it since I was a little girl (hey...my parents never argued when I made sweets!!)
