DIY CP tip for eparties

I know Denise is having an epartycoming up and I'm sure some other gilrs are too so I'm letting you in on a tip I learned today:

TRader Joe's has a dozen roses for $7.99/doz. Ikea has awesome vases for $0.99-$2.50. Put the 2 together....awesome combo

THE CATCH: You gotta do em yourself, you need at least 2 days ahead for the roses to open up and you can only get an assortment. I called stop and shop to see if they can get me all one color. I'm doing choc brown tablecloths with a short square vase with pink roses inside....it should cost me about $7 each, about $10 if I use a whole dozen.

Just wanted to pass on the knowledge....i thought it was cool...it beats the hell out of getting stuff at Michaels at $10 a pop!

Hey thanks alot, i might check it out...BTW i am also doing pink and brown for my e-party.

Yeah i know someone who works downtown in the wholesale flower district so i was planning on going there and see what he can do for me...I am gonna do everything myself...i am also going to a party rental place that has everything, tablecloths, napkins, even chairs and all those things. If the flower thing doesnt work out and dont get a good price, then i will try out your idea, thank you

that IS a good idea...CLM dosnt have colored linens (i dont think they do) i might do this too

yeah most places just have the white table cloths...I dont wanna buy 16 table runners bc after what will i do with them so figured i should just rent them.

Well for the e-party i decided to do all DIY projects, didnt wanna go overboard either plus we already have too many guests.

For the table numbers i am going to do them myself...I am doing the menu's myself. Then like i said i am renting table runners and napkins...I am gonna buy flowers from the wholesale market and buy votives from someplace cheap.

here are two table ideas, and to see the napkins with the menu

If you can find these napkin rings somewhere for cheap it would be good...My cousin said she had seen them at urban outfitters dont know if they still have them.

I also would like to find these pink votives but to put on the table so no writing on them

WOW Denise that looks awesome! Its gonna be beautiful!!! You gotta make sure to take lots of pics!!! Thanks for the hints!!! I'm not sure if I'm even going to do real tablecloths.... I will most likely just have plastic. I'm having kids at the party and its at a firehouse so i'm not gonna go that nuts.

I was thinking of doing a choc. martini bar and some strawberry sangria. I was also thinking about a champagne bar and pomegranate margaritas too....is that overkill? We're gonna have beer, wine and some SMALL assortment of liquor as well (prob just Jamesons, Absolut, and Captain) I get myself involved in these things and then get in over my head....

this alcohol selection sounds great!! esp. the chocolate martini and strawberry sangria...mmmmm, but yes, just be careful not to get in over your head , it's so easy to do that

well I'm a bartender so its easy to make the drinks...I think I'm probably going to make 2 gallons of sangria and Make the pomgaritas mix ahead of time so all they have to do is pour it with tequila over ice. I'll show the bartenders how to make the cohotinis and I'll set up the first batch and rim them with cocoa powder and grenadine. The only thing that worries me is the champagne bar. I feel like that's going to get a little pricey...although I do have a coupon.

FM me for the recipes they're pretty easy.

But I'm also cooking the apps and making some food. I wouldn't mind if we were paying for it but its FFIL. I don't want to stick him with this gigantic unneccessary bill.
