Is it necessary to have 1DJ + 1MC for a wedding with 125-150pp? I am in a budget and thinking of cut it to only 1DJ.
also... i am curious how many of you girls are having DJ do ceremony music too.....My mom may want some orchestras....
Thanks!

Re: DJ questions...
I had a DJ and MC, but my wedding was only 100 people. It really depends on the type of crowd your having. I thought FOR SURE that our families were going to need some dance motivation, thats why I opted for the MC. Little did I know that E.V.E.R.Y single person in the room was a party animal and we didnt need the MC at all. He did practically nothing. If you have a dancing, fun family...skip the MC in my opinion

Wow.....thats very helpful. Unfortunately half of my guests I would know little since they are friends or family of my mother in law. So I guess it would be a safer opt to get a MC if there will be many seniors and kids.
Did you get ceremony music separate from DJ?
Thanks

Re: DJ questions...
A lot of DJ will also MC (such as make announcements and what not). If you want someone actually on the dance floor to get people up then you need to people. You can get ceremony music from the DJ or get someone else. I think it really depends on what type of sound you want.

Re: DJ questions...
I will have approx 150 people and we are having a DJ/MC plus an assistant and zap shot guy. It would have been out of budget for a DJ and MC for me. My package also includes cocktail hour music.

Re: DJ questions...
Hi hun! I went with DJ & MC. I went to tommys tunes and they showed me a video of the mc's working the crowd and i loved it! their mc's arent cheesy -but very energetic and really funny! I know they have additions like orchestra and percussion etc.Their base price without haggling was lower than i saw anywhere else. They really worked with my budget i wouuld def give them a call. FM if u have any questions!
