DJ search about to begin... narrowed down to SAS, LI Sounds, Tommy Tunes, Get in Tune.... any opinions or other rec's?

Our wedding is quickly approaching (April) and we still have not booked our DJ. I know we need to start the search soon, and I have done some searches to find some recommendations and reviews.

I am looking for a dj, hopefully under $1500.... anybody have any idea if the DJ's I listed are around my budget? We are not looking for major light productions or giveaways. Just a good DJ and MC.... please help.

Also, are there any mc's that are highly recommended? Most of our family are a bit older, so we are concerned that there will be nobody on the dance floor... so a great mc would help! Thanks.

We booked SAS, because of reviews on this board.
We had James as our DJ & Tom as our MC. They were great, they played all of the songs I asked for. I have alot of older relatives too & they were up dancing. We took their basic package(no lights, smoke or props)and we used their video service. I'll give you a review after I see it. They were exactly what we were looking for & they are in your budget. I'd be happy to answer any other questions you have!

Check out dance jock! I saw them at another wedding and everyone was on the dance floor the whole time. I loved them so much that I booked them without even looking around. I think they are around your budget also.

Big Hits Entertainment. That is who we are using, I have seen them at 2 weddings and they are great. Their thingis 'your day, your way'

We just used SAS for our wedding last month - all I can say is wow - Tom was phenomenal.....the crowd was dancing ALL night, and they played exactly what we wanted. They were amazing!!

Comparing prices with quality I found Get in Tune to be the most bang for your buck.

I have a DJ who is not a vendor on this board but fits your budeget easily.
He does partyfavors of your choice, light shows, has smoke & bubble machines...

He is in business over 10 years & I am using him. He is professional & very highly recommended. He will also come to your home and speak to you.

We booked LI Sound and Chris as our MC. We are paying under $1500 for reception and ceremony done by the DJ and a piano player for the cocktail hour.

We didn't want any give aways or light show stuff, just a classy/fun party. And they seemed to understand us the most. If you want more specifics, I'd be happy to tell you -- just forum mail me.

We just booked In The Mood Productions for $1,195. They were really helpful and understanding in what we wanted! We too have a lot of older people attending our reception. We're the last of all our friends getting married. Give them a call 1-800-339-4ADJ

We just used SAS last month and they were wonderful. We booked them after seeing them at my aunts wedding 2 years ago. I had such a good time that I knew right away that's who we wanted. We used Rob as our DJ and he did a wonderful job and their prices are very reasonable.

we used sas and it was a great choice...

my older, but loves to dance aunt, made a comment once about not being able to dance at weddings anymore, b/c of the music played...

while I helped him with the genre...he did a fabulous job and more than one older guest commented on how they could finally dance

Try Albert Lee Music.. he came highly recommended by another bride on this site, I booked him and it included a DJ and a high energy dancer. If you want his # let me know, he is in Suffolk county.

Used Big Hits for my wedding in August. I saw them @ my cousin's wedding and I was impressed. Paid $1400.00 for DJ & MC.
