Do people really eat cake a year later?

How is that possible? Do they store it in a special way? It goes in the fridge?

It sounds crazy to me too! You are suppose to keep it in your freezer for the year. Personally, I don't think I will make it a year with a cake in my freezer...I'll probably eat it the next day!

i stored mine in a freezer. BIL is a chef and he got us this great cake box from the hotel whe works in. But even if you don't have a box, you have just cover it aluminum foil very carefully and it will be ok.

I can't wait for our 1 year anniversary so i can throw it out! it takes up so much room, in our freezer! plus, its got to taste so stale by then!

We didn't. We peeked at 6 mos. and it looked gross. We tossed it.

Our hall left all of the fresh flowers, and peacock feathers on our cake, and when my mom gave it to me to put in my freezer, I saw it had mold all over the cake. That was tossed quickly in the garbage!!!

We'll be getting a mini replica for our 1 year

I plan on cuttingthe cake into 12 pieces & having one piece every month for the year. this way if it tastes gross at the end at least we had a good piece at the 1 month mark

My brother and sister in law did and I tried it too...the cake actually wasn't bad tasting. The fondant/frosting was gross!

My sister ate it a year later. Apparently there were flowers on the top tier that were perfectly preserved as well. She said it was pretty dry, but not terrible.

I really like the idea of cutting it into 12 pieces.

we ate my sister's a year later and it tasted like freezer burn haha

we had also gotten a separate cake with the same fillings as the original to actually eat since we each took a forkful of the old one and that was it haha

My friend ate her wedding cake at the one year mark and said it was pretty gross. I dont think we will do that. I need my freezer space LOL

Hmmm, it doesn't sound like a cake could make it a year in the freezer. I like the idea of a mini replica at our one year anniverary.

I'm probably going to attempt to eat mine but don't know how well that's going to go

I think we are going to try to make it a whole year but like someone else said before, it takes up so much room in our freezer. I can see myself throwing it out in a few months@!

I just thought about this, I think we will save it, then taste a small, smal, small piece then throw it out!
