Do people usually wait till the last minute to buy a gift for your shower? - kind of depressed..

I know my shower is this Saturday and I've been peeking at my registry. There is barely anything bought from it and it's really bumming me out. I have a feeling that because the invitations went out kind of late a lot of people probably won't be coming to the shower. I'm really not feeling that excited about it right now cause I'm afraid there's going to be nobody but immediate family there.
Are people maybe just waiting till the last minute?? There's so much stuff on our registry that we need because we've bought a house and have NOTHING. I'm afraid we're gonna have to be going out to get it all ourselves and we're broke!!

A lot of stuff on my baby registry wasn't bought until a few days before.

yeahh...i know exactly how you feel and my mom and sister have convinced me that most people are last minute shoppers or they bought things that just didn't come off the registry...i feel like nothing has come off and i'm sorta getting upset but according to them I have nothing to worry about. and for those registry peekers out there---is it me or do items come off ONLY on the weekends?!

yes only on the weekends!!!!

don't stress too much- I think people are last minute shoppers- I am the complete opposite so it kinda bums me out as well. I have been watching my registry all month since my shower is September 1st.

my shower was a surprise, and that's what helped me stay surprised since I was a peeker and there wasn't that much that came off of our registry- I didn't get ANY bedding or towels, I got mostly kitchen stuff.....and a lot of people either didn't give the cashier the registry to scan so it came off, or they just bought it elsewhere. I got probably about $500 in gift cards which was awesome!! I had the best time shopping after the shower....it was so nice to see the total bill and not have to hand over my own cash!! Also there could be a lot of people who are waiting til after your shower to mail you a gift if they're not going (that also happened to me). don't feel down....your shower will be awesome!!!!

Don't even think about it ~ I felt the same way ~ but STOP looking at your registry... I did and it was 10x better when my shower came! I received duplicates and guess what on my registry not one was taken off... so i think people get a copy of the registry for ideas but i dont think they give it when they are paying so things do not come off... dont worry everything will be fine & STOPPPPP PEEKING!

i know i'm a last minute gift buyer. don't worry you'll also get a lot of GC's too. FH and i got close tp $500 in GC's at the shower and now we're still GC's in the mail.

i can relate, I know my shower is in a week and a half, and only a few things have been bought and theres almost 40 people coming I posted yesterday about this and everyone said the day before everyone goes out and buys..

This happened to us to but we got EVERYTHING on our registry-what may ahve happened to you is what happeened to us-they never removed the items from the registry so not only did we get everything, we got TRIPLES and had to return about 400 dollars worth of mwrchandise! I felt SO bad for guests because everyone wnats their gift to be unique but after we opened the 4th box of corningware.. lol we figured out what had happened.

Lots of people wait to the last minute and many people forget when they go to the store to take the item off the registry..so no worries., and if people show up with envelopes you wont be broke YAY

Don't worry! Sometimes (with my family at least) people don't buy from the registry or wait until the last minute.

for starters, STOP LOOKING at your registry!!!! It is going to take all the fun out of opening gifts. I did this & I went to my shower knowing exactly what I was getting. It stinks.

Secondly, yes people wait & also, people forget to tell the cashier that its from a registry.

alot of people wait for the last min and i also heard that sometimes the stores forget to take the items off the registry when they are purchased.... dont stress im sure you will get everything you need!!

You are not the only one - My shower is Saturday also and there is very little purchased off the registry. I know about 40 people are coming and I assume they are waiting until right before the shower to make the purchase. No worries or fears - you will get what you need and probably more...

yup, i know how you fell...no one has bought me anything, but my shower is not until the 18th (1week before my wedding)...so i'm waiting patiencely

I am a firm believer in why do today what you can put off till tomorrow. I am known for stopping on the way to the event to pick up a gift. My entire family is the same way so try not to worry. The world is filled with procrastinators.
