Do people usually wait till the last minute to buy a gift for your shower? - kind of depressed..
I know my shower is this Saturday and I've been peeking at my registry. There is barely anything bought from it and it's really bumming me out. I have a feeling that because the invitations went out kind of late a lot of people probably won't be coming to the shower. I'm really not feeling that excited about it right now cause I'm afraid there's going to be nobody but immediate family there. Are people maybe just waiting till the last minute?? There's so much stuff on our registry that we need because we've bought a house and have NOTHING. I'm afraid we're gonna have to be going out to get it all ourselves and we're broke!!

Don't stress...wait and see..you may be suprised by what you end up getting...my shower turned out to be the same day as several communions so alot of my guests couldn't make it apparently...but i still had a blast and got alot of great stuff!! The people that mattered the most were all there for me and some that couldn't make it sent gifts

You are not the only one - My shower is Saturday also and there is very little purchased off the registry. I know about 40 people are coming and I assume they are waiting until right before the shower to make the purchase. No worries or fears - you will get what you need and probably more...

My shower was on a Sunday and the majority of people shopped that Wednesday on. Some even went the day of. I'm sure you will get nice things.

I hate to say it but I am one of those people. I always go last minute to buy off a registry. If you have everything picked out that you want, I feel it don't have to think about it. I will usually go on the way to the party. I'm sooo bad. Sorry. I'm sure there are many many more like me. Don't worry!

Does everyone know that you're registered and where? I know for my shower I got everything I needed for the honeymoon and money to go towards the HM. Plus some lingerie and some keepsakes.

yeah I know my sister put where I'm registered on the invitations. I'm banking on the possibility that people are just last minute. Which is totally fine, I'm just getting a wee bit worried.

People usually do wait till the last minute... like 2-3 days before (which is what I usually do), some even the day before or the day of!

There was stuff bought for my shower right up until the afternoon of my shower! And perhaps some people ventured out on there own and bought from other places. My own grandmother wanted to buy me something from my registry but found it someplace cheaper and bought it there...Don't stress....

I'm right there with ya! My shower is August 11th, so there's still time, but barely anything is coming off. My sister just sent the invitations out like a week and a half ago so I was telling my FH that a lot of people aren't going to be able to come because it's the summer and they make plans early. But the truth is those people that are really important to you will be there and gifts will be purchased last minute. And you can always look forward to the shopping spree afterwards because of completer programs!

No worries!! I'm a big procrastinator
Also, you may have things from your registry that were purchased, but didn't show up. If someone goes to the store to purchase an item and doesn't 'check it off' at the register, it doesn't show up...you know?

I wouldn't worry...most people, myself included, are last minute shoppers...think about how jam packed stores are Christmas eve! Not to worry, you will get lots of nice stuff, i am sure!

I was going to suggest the same thing. One of my BMs told me the other day that she apologizes if I get doubles of the gift she bought me because she realized after she go home that she never told them to check it off at the register.
And yes, I think a lot of people do shop last minute. I Know I'm guilty of that more often than not.

yeahh...i know exactly how you feel and my mom and sister have convinced me that most people are last minute shoppers or they bought things that just didn't come off the registry...i feel like nothing has come off and i'm sorta getting upset but according to them I have nothing to worry about. and for those registry peekers out there---is it me or do items come off ONLY on the weekends?!

I was in the exact situation you are in now..... and not too many people DID get gifts off the registry.... and we needed the china sooooo badly!
HOWEVER, several people gave us gift cards to use on our registry.... so I managed to buy china with them the remaining china I bought with wedding money

This happened to me too, my surprise shower was this past Saturday and I was checking my registry like crazy to see if stuff was coming off so I could tell when it was getting close. My guests said they didn't want to purchase stuff off of my registry because of the element of surprise since they all know I'm a big snoop I got a few items off of my registry, gift cards and a lot of lingerie.
