Do you believe in ghosts???? (LONG)

Just wondering if any of you guys REALLY believe in ghosts??? Have you ever seen one?
Let me tell you a wierd story....
About a yr ago, for like a 3 month period, I was seeing strange things...
One morning, I opened my eyes in bed to see a MAN leaning forward STARING RIGHT AT ME and SMILING! I have NEVER seen this man before, and I can describe him to a T....I screamed, said 'OMG...who IS THAT IN MY ROOM!' and buried my head in my pillow, frozen in fear. When I reopened my eyes, he was gone....He had brown hair, green eyes, checkered button down shirt, and jeans...looked kind of spanish....
Another morning, some time later, I woke up again, opened my eyes, and THE SAME MAN was standing at my bed right by my head...all I could see was the waist of his checkered shirt and his jeans and belt cause he was standing so close....once again, I freaked out, screamed OH MY GOD and jumped out of bed..only, no one was there. I was TERRFIED. THEN...on another occasion...I woke up, and there was an old lady holding a young boys hand...they were standing at the foot of my bed....
Maybe these are all hallucintaions, but oddly, they all took place in broad daylight...and I am a light sleeper, so I wake up instantly...it;s not like I was half awake....
anyone else have any 'ghostly' experiences?
Or am I just crazy? lolol

I completely believe in ghosts....have never really had any contact with them, but I love ghost sotires (even thought they scare the cr@p out of me)

yes.. my BM nad his ex girl saw one when they were climbing the stairs at his old place.. heard a noise.. turned around and BOTH saw a man standing there who disappeared right afterwards. pretty spooky.

I totally believe in ghosts, the house my parents brought, the people we brought from an elderly man died in the living room. One night I woke up and went downstairs for a drink. The rocking chair started rocking like someone was sitting in it.

I have seen some things when I was younger. I had a friend that lived in east rockaway....The house that they rented used to be owned by a church and on one side lived the priest, and on the other side lived 2 nuns...Well we used to see the Laundry Shoot open up by its self and close by itself. We also used to see his closet door open and close by itself....and when we used to go over to hang out we would hear foot steps upstairs, but no one was at home but us...

HEre is my LONG story-

When I was about 13 we moved...the first night we slept all in my room because there was only bed set up in there...that night our bedroom dorr slammed shut, it was difficult to get open, we opened it and then suddenly the other room doors slammed shut....we left them and went back to bed...not a minute later the bedroom we were in slammed again...this time it took over a half hr to get it open, like it was stuck...when we got it open, all the other bedrooms doors were open....needless to say people always wondered why we had NO doorknobs on the doors from that night on...it kept going..one time my mom washed the dishes, put them in the drain, with all the cups and stuff face down...she went back into the kitchen and everything was face up, the knives/forks/spoons , everything rearranged.....one time the fan went on...and I mean full force , could not have beem the wind....my mom got up and it was unplugged...we all stared at it for like ten minutes till it just stopped...just dead stopped......

The story gets weirder when I tell you my great grandmother lived in this house with us...she was about 93-95 at this time....she would wake us up screaming in the middle of the night and we'd go into her room and she'd say..'tell them to leave me alone' and would get agitated when we didnt 'see' who she saw...this went on for months...she'd even 'save' food because she said the little boy was hungry....Everyone thought she was just senile( though perfectly normal in all other regards) untill we really thought of everything that had happned in the big picture.....my mom went to the church and was told that sometimes elderly people are seen as holier then many beacuse they don;t sin and are closer to god/heaven and sometimes souls gravate towards them

Wthere this is a load of Bull Sh** I dont know but it made sense at the time...I still dont know if I believe it or not...but I was very happy to move out of that house when we did...

I believe in them.........

One summer, my cousin and I went to and stayed at her grandparents house. A few weird/unexplained things started to happen right away:

First day:

We left our suitcases in the room and went to eat lunch with her grandparents. When we got back, we both opened our suitcases (which were locked) and started to unpack. As I started to put away my jewelery, I noticed that my cousin's ring ( a gift I had gotten her years ago) was in my box. There was no explanation as how it could have gotten there.

Second day:

I had a secret hiding space where I kept my money (not even my cousin knew). One day I put on my favorite jeans and felt something in my back pocket and I pulled out my cash. My money was kept in a completely different bag and my jeans were on the bottom of my suitcase and I didn't even touch.

Fourth day:

My favorite jeans were missing. Till this day, I have no clue what happened to them.

Every other night or so, I would have nightmares about a little old lady dressed in black. She kept looking in the mirror and saying she need to tell me something. I didn't tell my cousin I was having this dream. A few days had passed and my cousin woke up screaming and told me this scary old lady kept mumbling something to her and she couldn't understand.

Two weeks later, my cousin wanted to send postcards to her family. She wrote them out and we walked into town (takes about 30 minutes). She put them in the mailbox (which I saw her do) and then we walked back home. When we got there, the postcards were on her bed. We both turned white and then I asked out loud, is there a ghost in this room and then the lights started to flicker. We both ran out crying and her grandparents thought we were nuts.

After awhile, we just got used to the weird things and didn't even acknowledge them. We never did find out what the ghost wanted to tell us.

Since then, my cousin has gone back and slept in that same room but nothing odd has happened.

i do. we actually have kind of a weird thing that happens in my house. one day DH was taking a nap and he heard voices, like talking on the radio, he decieded to ignore it just go back to sleep. as he was trying to sleep the voices got louder and he decided to go downstairs and turn off the radio. when he got down stairs, the radio was not on. i just thought it was odd, not ghostly...but two nights ago we had some friends over for dinner and they were all outside, i was inside cutting fruit for dessert. we had been listening to cds, but they had stopped. I'm in the kitchen chopping away, listening to NPR, or what I thought was NPR...but then I think to myself, thats weird, i didn't put the radio on. sure enough i go in the living room, and the radio isn't on, but clear as day i had been listening to the news. it was really freaky, but i wasn't scared. just strange.

this happens all the time in my parents house. For years, they searched the house for a radio. Never could find one. Many other things happened too.

So, Neesie - yes! I totally believe you. How terrifying. Tell them to leave you alone!

I believe in ghosts even though nothing has happened to me. These stories scare me to death.

Our tenants and DH think there is a ghost in our house but they are not allowed to talk about it in front of me b/c I will have to move out asap - lol.

I do as well.
My MIL had an experience. I wish she could tell you all this story, because she is such a believer and I get such chills when she tells it.

In their old house in Queens Village when my husband, BIL and SIL were all very little there was a blackout in the middle of winter during a n'or easter storm. FIL was away on business.
It was nighttime and really cold out, and when the power went out, the heat did as well. She put my husband and his brother to bed all bundled up in their cold room.
She left them to check on the baby- and when she entered the nursery, it was very warm and there was a glow to the room, the glow of a nightlight almost. Then when she looked in the corner of the room, she saw a little girl on a tricycle, and when she looked away, she was gone.
Turns out, it was the neighbors daughter who was unfortunately hit by a car a couple of years ago while on her tricycle.

The little girl was there pretecting the baby from the cold. The room stayed warm the entire night. MIL had the 2 boys sleep in there with the baby until the power came back on.
