I don't believe so, when I went a couple years ago with my mom we just walked into the stores. I think its best to start in department store because typical MOB dress are really expensive.

When i went with my mom for her dress we just walked into the salon because it's a small place and were helped right away.I guess it just depends on how big the bridal shop is.

I don't believe you need an appt but it never hurts to call and make one especially if the dress shop is busy.

My experience is that with or without an appointment you're going to wait if it's busy so you may as well just go!

Sugarplum you don't need an appointment. Village Bridal will prefer an appointment, however....

Depends on the place. I would call ahead if possible just to make sure you get the best service. Otherwise they might be rushed.

Thanks everyone. We ended up going to Village Bridal and then Macy's Bridal (Manhasset). And we also stopped in Estelle's too.

Found two possibilities, check out my 2010 post. Oh and we walked right into Village and Macy's with no problems

When my mom went for my brothers weddings she never made an appt she just walked in and they helped her but you can call the place your going to and double check with them.
