Shopping in Bloomie's this weekend I couldnt get over the fact that every pair of jeans was $80 and up and I mean UP there! I admit to owning a pair of Citizens (which I did not purchase) and Seven. Yes, they fit pretty decent. Im short so anything having to be hemmed is a problem since Im already spending around $80 and another $10 to hem.
My luck has only been Abercrombie & Fitch and American Eagle who have short and a price range of $30 and up...a little more reasonable.
Are the pricey ones really worth it? I cant seem to do it, spend that money!

I bought a pair of Notify jeans and was disappointed. They are supposed to have a 36' inseam and they are not even close. (So that $200+ pair of jeans are just hanging in my closet. )
I have 'Tall' Sevens, but again, I can only wear them with flip-flops.
I'm pretty much stuck with Gap Extra-Long jeans until some of the manufacturers start making them truly longer.
and shorter! who the heck decided women were all the same height , when men have a choice of inseams?

Can you get them hemmed? Or do they still not fit right regardless?

Some people get them hemmed, but I just don't think they will look right ( and I will never get around to it)
But yes, unless you like the clam digger look, your situation is harder to work with. If they aren't too long, I can usually get away with heels & not trip over them.

I have had luck recently with the Gap's long and lean in short. I guess I caught them on sale because I paid $35. When I went back to get another pair they were $50ish. I will wait until they are on sale again.

I usually just buy Gap jeans or Levis. I know they will fit and I am petite so pretty much any other jeans are too long - I always have to buy ankle length.

I usually get mine at Marshall's, TJ Maxx, Abercrombie, and Express. I too am short, so it is hard finding jeans that are the right length. When longer ones get hemmed the part where it goes out at the leg does not fall in the right place. I've gotten Sevens at Marshall's though. They usually have some good brands.

Sell them on Ebay, if they are in good condition someone will buy them.

Yes...but I try not to buy too many. I love Seven jeans...and I don't care what people say YES they do fit better than less expensive jeans...this is JMO. It is not because they are name brand jeans, even if they were $30 jeans I would still swear buy Sevens...I love wearing jeans and too me spending money like that is worth it for the amount of times I wear them. I still have my first pair that I bought two and a half years ago...and I wear them as if I just got them...

I buy mostly gap, and I also like express. I would say those are moderate... I have looked at jeans that are more expensive, but can't fathom spending more than $100 on jeans.

If they fit, then I don't mind spending the money. My favorite jeans are Blue Cult, granted they are about $120-160/pair but they just fit better than any other jeans I have ever owned.

Re: DO you spend alot of $$$$ on jeans???
About hemming, it dones't always work well with jeans, especially if theya re flare or boot cut, because then you're sort of cutting off the bell/flare in the middle, and it looks strange...the flare starts too low and ends too quickly, doens;t get big as it should..also, then you have a saggy crotch, too. I have to buy petite jeans because the WHOLE jean has to be proportioned differently if you're shorter.
I used to buy from GAP, but lately I really like venezia jeans from lane bryant. I also have a few pairs from NY & Co. I have a few pairs of Old navy but all of thier jeans are utra low rise, and they are too square to fit me right..my hips are WAY bigger than my waist

Nah, I get mine at the Gap. I'm tempted to get some of the snazzy, expensive ones, though! Is there a big difference between the expensive brands and the Gap types?

Re: DO you spend alot of $$$$ on jeans???
it depends... I have a pair of sevens that fit me nicely and a pair from abercrombie.. i also bought a pair from old navy that fit me really well and a pair from banana republic that I got on sale after xmas for $35 dollars. Gap also... and they all range in price.. I dont mind spending the money if I like them and they fit.. I wear jeans a lot- dressing down and dressing up so to me its worth the money..
