Do you wear your engagement ring when you travel?

I've traveled to a few states since I've been engaged and I felt safe wearing it. But what about traveling outside of the country? Do you bring your ring? Do you have a stand-in for traveling purposes? Or do you leave your engagement ring at home and not bother?

I wear a simple band or a different ring.I dont really like people staring at my ring and i dont want the attention or give them the idea that i got money . even when im on the subway i turn my ring in so the diamond doesn't show .

I would never think twice about bringing my ring anywhere. I've worn it when I travel, everywhere I go.. The only place I won't wear it is when I'm sleeping, in the ocean/at the beach or in the pool. Having a stand in ring seems to be very popular on other forums like weddingbee but idk..

I've traveled with my ring outside the U.S. I never take it off unless I'm cooking something messy or working on something where it could be ruined it.

What about when you're on vacation and are at the beach or the pool? Do you just leave it in the hotel room in the safe?

The last time we went away where we were around pool/beach we didn't stay in a hotel, we stayed with family so I felt comfortable just keeping it in the locked compartment in my suitcase. But now that I think about it, hotel safes make me nervous bevause I feel like cleaning people and hotel workers can get in there.. YOURE MAKING ME QUESTION EVERYTHING NOW!! Lol!

Haha sorry!!!!!! I have two vacations scheduled this year and I am so worried what to do with my ring! My fiance told me to just leave it at home for our beach vacation out of the country but I don't want to be without it.

I've been thinking about this myself with summer coming and what we do for the honeymoon. My diamond was handed down from my great grandmother so while its insured losing it would be beyond devastating. I'm thinking I might leave it home and just wear the wedding band. Same goes for going to the beach locally, it just seems too much of a risk to me to wear it somewhere that it can be lost so easily.
Id suggest leaving it with family if you don't want to leave it in an empty house while you're gone. I feel like I'd be so paranoid leaving it in a hotel safe that Id just want it either with me or with family.

I don't feel safe leaving it in the hotel safe in another country. Its so easy to reset those safes.

I wish I could bring my ring with me on our honeymoon but im too nervous. My aunt and uncle had all their valuables stolen out of their safe at a Four Seasons once. And since that is such a high end hotel, it makes me nervous.

I may just buy a cheap ring to wear on our honeymoon

I travel all over for work and I wear my ring everywhere -- except in the shower! I am, however, considering a stand in for vacations that require adventure, because the thought of losing it kills me, even if it is insured...

OMG out of a Four Seasons safe? Did they say if it was an employee? I can't even imagine having to do through that experience.

So its either risk wearing it to the beach or risk it in the safe or just wear a placement ring. I don't like any of those! lol.

I never take mine off. If I didn't mind parting with it so much, I would feel so much better if I had to leave it at home rather than in the hotel safe. TOO much can go wrong I wouldn't even bother.

Beware of the beach! When I was in the Bahamas many years ago I saw a couple on their honeymoon frantically looking in the water for something. She dropped her rings while swimming! We all looked to try and help, but we couldn't find them

My fiancé proposed on the beach in Arbua...I could bearly enjoy the rest of the trip because I was paranoid I would lose it on the beach or in the ocean and he didn't trust the hotel safes. He eventually had a duplicate made so we could vacation without worry. At first I thought it was a little ridiculous then I saw the appraisal.

hey!! I have been having this conversation about the honeymoon, ive been looking and I saw swaorksi has a simple looking engagement ring for a $100.00, we are big boaters and go to fire island a lot.. and was thinking leaving at home and just buying this as my stand in!

For my honeymoon in Mexico, I went to Kohl's in the jewelry department, and found both an engagement style ring as well as a wedding band style ring (very similar looking to my engagement ring and wedding band) and bought them for a combined $50.00...It was awesome, cus I wore them both in the pool and ocean and didn't mind if they got lost or damaged because I knew they were cheap and enjoyed my honemoon...I even sometimes wear them at my job, because where I work, my rings can get damaged...So, my replacements serve not only travel but for work as well!!! :)

I just got home last night from my 11 day honeymoon in Mexico and I DID NOT bring my rings !! Let me tell you it was the smartest thing I did! I don't need the reason the flash my ring to strangers in the pool and beach but just to have the peace of mind that my rings were home safe and sound while I was doing excursions that alone made the honeymoon more perfect. As long as you don't care about flashing your diamond to people than u can't put a price on having peace of mind while you are with your hubby :)
