Ok My flower girls' mother and I went to get her dress Sunday....First of all she thought I was paying for it and said 'OH I wasn't sure but I didn't bring my wallet' UMMM IF YOU WEREN'T SURE...WOULDN'T YOU BRING YOUR WALLET JUST IN CASE' so I had to pay for now.
THEN... she calls me today and says that the flowergirls CHRISTENING DRESS STILL FITS. AND SHE'S GOING TO HAVE HER WEAR THAT TO THE WEDDING!!...the baby is now going to be TWO YEARS OLD IN NOVEMBER!!! She was Christened at 3 months old!!!
HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE!!!! How in the Heck could it still fit!!!!
with ELEVEN DAYS TO GO...I HATE EVERYONE!!!!
ETA: BTW...AS IF I DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH TO DO..NOW I HAVE TO RETURN THE DAMN DRESS!!

I have decided to ask her if it's b/c she doesn't like the dress or is it that she doesnt want to spend the money?. She'll say it's the money and I think Im going to say..well I really don't want her in her Christening gown so I'll split the cost of the dress with you. THE WHOPPING $25 DOLLARS!!! What do you ladies think...Will I be letting her get away with the nonsense????

first i would find out if you can even return the dress. if not then you need to let her know you paid for the dress and cant get the money back, would be wrong if you paid for a dress she wont even wear. And yeah, theres no way her dress fits her from when she was 3 months old

Ok FIRST of all... that dress couldn't possibly fit unless she is the same size she was when she was 3 months which I HIGHLY doubt... SECOND of all.. if you paid for it, why the hell would she even want her to where her christening dress. It makes no sense! Most ridic of all.. you chose your FG girl dress based on what you wanted for YOUR wedding... I just don't understand people!

Well because she now knows that I wasn't going to pay for it and that she'd have to reimburse me!!
After we got home I told FH and he spoke with his brother,,, FG's mother's husband...if that makes sense.. and told him that Val thought FH and I paid for the dress but she was supposed to.. So FBIL said he would take care of it have have the money to us... now that SHE HAS TO PAY...THAT'S WHY SHE;S MAKING HER WEAR THE CHRISTENING DRESS
hope that makes sense.. She's also a BM!!

how much was the dress you want her to wear? maybe they are having financial problems? Thats insane the dress still fits! Maybe you can say that you really want her to wear the dress you bought and offer to pay for it? but if its not that expensive, then I dont see why they won't pay it and wear it. I really think a lot of people just dont understand that weddings are important to some people. And the second someone tries to explain how important it is or why it is important they are now called 'bridezilla' even when trying to be very nice about.
ETA: sorry- I went on a tangent there... but I think you need to explain to the fgs mom that this is the dress you want her to wear in YOUR wedding.

Wow!! If I were you, i'd go see what the dress looks like on your FG. Thers no way it would still fit unless she hasn't grown since she was 3 months old People are unreal!!!

Im not even concerned about the actuall dress.. Im a pretty laid back Bride.. if the girls are comfortable and look presentable I don't care.. but how can this child look presentable in her christening outfit!!!
She's doing this b/c she doesn't want to pay the $55

Honestly, I would call to see if they allow returns. Then I would call her and simply tell her that it's the parents of the flower girl that pay's for the dress. Also, I doubt the dress fits. I wouldn't let her wear the dress, I would tell the mother that it's your day and things will go as you planned. There isn't time for this nonsense people are putting you thru...

how can that dress fit??? my daughter is just 3 and there is no way i can get her in to the fg dress she wore last summer no less something almost 2 years old???? and does the color match your dress??? if its the wrong shade??? think someone should get a call- so sorry to hear about this so close to wedding!!!!

but she expects you to pay for something that wont even be used, no that is wrong. If there was a problem about this then she should've told you at the store that FIRST she wants to see if a dress she has at home fits her daughter and then she'll let you know. Not let you pay KNOWING she wouldn't even use the dress

there is no way that she fits into that dress- sorry she is giving you trouble- I would let your fh handle it- since its his family, maybe him and his brother can handle it and not cause you anymore stress

The only way I can thinl that a Christening dress would still fit is b/c its a gown (past their feet) when they are 3 months old and now its shorter on her, but STILL!! How will the arms and everything fit?? and for $55 that her husband said he would pay for
