I would love to visit him, but I'm afraid he'll be very upset when I leave, and that would make him feel worse.

I have to work at 1:30 anyway, so I couldn't stay very long at all.

Awww poor woofie.

My cat a couple of years ago just stopped eating and drinking suddenly. Brought her to the vet, they took a sh!tload of tests and found nothing wrong.

Gave her fluids under the skin, but she was still lethargic so she had to stay overnight with a fluid IV. After she had a good 24 hours of IV in her system, she was back to normal. We had to feed her special food that had a higher water content in it in the beginning to make sure she was gettign adequate levels.

The vet said that maybe her stomach was upset, which caused her not to eat and drink; and then from not drinking she got dehydrated which made her feel worse and therefore so much more likely not to drink - and on and on and on.

It stinks that they can't talk. And of course now I am obsessive compulsive over it. Her dishes are next to our bed, and I know exactly when she eats (around 11:30PM-Midnight every day). If I dont hear her eat/drink by 12:30AM, I get worried. There are times I even weigh her bowls to make sure she's been eating. (Yes I know I have problems...)

Aww, I hope he is better soon. My kitty that lives at my moms still is sick and has been at the vet for the past WEEK!! They have never seen what she has before and she has become their little science experiment. We were a little upset by that, but then thought about it and realized she is getting the best care being in their hands right now. And they are not charging us for anything because they are studying her. I can't imagine what the bill would be, actually I can, it would be over 3000 dollars!! Luckily she should be coming home Friday or Saturday!! I hope everything is ok with your doggy and he just needed to be replenished with some fluids!!

***UPDATE***

Well I'm afraid my news isn't very good news -

after 2 bags of IV fluids and antibiotics, he is STILL vomiting. He's moving around a little bit now, because he's rehydrated, but the vomiting is worse, and now there's blood in his stool.

The vet did an x-ray, and found a mysterious 'something' in him. Possibilities: a bleeding ulcer, a tumor or other mysterious growth, etc.

He's scheduled for a sonogram tomorrow, and still not home.

He's been sick since Monday, gone for the past day and a half, and I miss him sooooo much. The house is SO empty without him!

Oh my gosh, my thoughts and prayers continue to be with you and your doggy. How sad....I hope that he starts to feel better and that whatever that mysterious some thing is isn't serious!! Take it easy and hang in there. Keep us updated!!
