Doubts

Doubts

So, I have 6 months to go and something happened last night that is making me seriously rethink everything.

I told FH I don't think I can go thru with the wedding but he is insisting that he'll make everything better and to please not cancel.

I don't know what I should do. My heart says stick it out but my head says call it off now.

i am so sorry to hear this-- why do you think 'your head ' is saying call it off?

well what is making you have doubts? is it just cold feet or is there actually some issues that concern you?

Was this the first time that you felt like this?

There is an issue that concerns me.

My rational thinking is saying that something is wrong and everything should be done and over with. I love him so much that my heart is saying stick with it and try to get through it.

I would really really think everything through. Its better to call off now then after its all said and done
I would have a huge sit down with FH and discuss why you are feeling this way

Good luck

Re: Doubts

what is making your have doubts? I think we all have doubts something can be said or done that is out of the norm and makes you re-evaluate things you should sit down and make a list of all the good and bad and see what out weighs the other and then sit and talk with your fh and see if you 2 can work things out

What's going on? If there are issues like the previous posted stated that you think can't be worked out...or your love has changed for him then I'd say take a step back and rethink things.. you don't want to end up getting divorced and you need to be fair to FH either...

Im so sorry to hear that!!!

I'm not sure what you're situation is, but I think you should stick it out!! Wedding planning is very stressful and it may cause you to lose sight of the love you and FH share bc you are constantly overwhelmed with 'The Wedding'! I wish you the best! We are all here for you!

Re: Doubts

Ok,, I think you need to be rational about what happened. If you dont want to say it is ok. But think hard.. have there been othr possible situations like last night?

Sorry, I just read the other posts...
If there is a serious issue at hand, then you should definitely step back and re-evaluate everything!

well have you tried fixing this issue? seems like maybe something serious is still bothering you. If there is a problem then talk to your fh, see if you two can work out and how to move past it.

Its hard to know what advice to give without knowing what the issues are....but my thoughts would be to go with your gut instinct. Thats what I always do, and its usally been the right thing. I hope you get through this and everything works out for the best...

I've been speaking to him nonstop since 11 o'clock last night. Nothing seems to be resolved.

The wedding stresses are not the reason I have doubts. I have been stressed for awhile but it hasn't effected out relationship.

Re: Doubts

I understand that you want to keep your issue private. But whether or not you stick this out depends on what the 'issue' is.

For example, if he were abusive in any way, you get out of there this second. If he has been cheating on you for a year, pack your stuff and leave. If he does not ever want to have children and you do, that won't be changed by time and it's better to end the relationship now.

But, if it's that you don't feel that 'spark' you used to, or that he's been promising to go back to college and make more money but is being lazy, etc., that's stuff you can talk over, go to counseling for, work through over time. And the close proximity of the wedding might make it seem like an unfixable doom you're heading towards, when it's really just magnified by wedding panic.

So I say, figure out of the issue is 'fixable' and if you're just panicking because the wedding is so near, or if it's a defect in his character that you shouldn't have to live with.

Good luck.

if there's an issue that you feel can't be fixed, it would be better to cancel now, and save yourself and FH the grief of a divorce. it'll be hard no matter when it happens. you said FH says he insists he'll make things better. could you maybe postpone the wedding to see if he can hold true to that?

this is a tough one. i'm so sorry.
