Dress Advice

Dress Advice

I need serious help, haha. I'm stuck between 2 wedding dresses, and I'm killing myself trying to make a decision.
Here's the low-down:

Dress #1: Love the style, love the details, love the feel of the fabric. Don't love the fact that I'll need 5 million alterations to make it work on my body. First of all, I need to order 2 sizes up so the top fits my boobs and have the rest taken in. Then, I have to have them put some sort of beaded modesty piece in the deep V-neck so the V is not so deep (girls are seriously poppin' out)! Also, the fabric is thin, so it shows EVERYTHING. Every little bump and line. But it's my favorite look.

Dress #2: Simpler in style, but I still like it. Looks GREAT on and the thicker fabric hides everything... all problem areas are gone! Would probably need minimal alterations.

What would you do if you were in my shoes??

I want to get it at Bridal Elegance because they seem to know their stuff alterations-wise. I'm open to other suggestions though.

In case you need a visual reference:
Dress 1

Dress 2

Thanks so much, ladies!

Re: Dress Advice

it sound like you love the 1st one! plus it's beautiful. maybe you can wear a corset or one of those body hugging things since the material is thin so you can feel more comfortable. You shouldn't worry about alterations, i'm sure they can do anything. Good luck

i am going to suggest that you keep looking. maybe you are so torn between the 2 bc neither one is 'the one' I would look for something that you LOOVE. If you don't find anything better you can always go back to one of these 2 dresses.

i would keep looking .... but if i HAD to choose, i'd go for #1 (but only if i'd be able to afford all the alterations)

Personally, I like dress #2 better, but if you're not 100% happy with either, keep looking! You still have a little time!!

I love the first one and with a light slip underneath or some kind of clingy piece, nothing would show. I think it's beautiful and the bead-work is amazing!

The 2nd dress is also very nice and a 'safe' choice.

I think you'll be disappointed if you don't get the first one from the way you're talking about it.

P.S. - I've been looking for 5 months... I don't know how much longer I can 'keep looking' before I go insane! haha

Trust me, I hear ya. I started looking in February 09 and purchased at the end of August!!! I tried on well over 100 dresses at probably 8-10 different locations and every single dress was beautiful but nothing hit me like THE dress. I didn't cry, a choir of angels didn't appear, but I felt beautiful and I felt like a bride and I knew it was right! You'll find it!!

Keep looking! You have plenty of time. You definitely don't talk about #2 the way you talk about #1...

Re: Dress Advice

sounds like you love the 1st one but the 2nd one is easy.

you need to decide what is most important to you. if you pick #2, will you have regrets?

#2 is gorgeous! Don't worry so much about alterations, go with the dress that you feel the most comfortable and feels good on your body.

Personally I like dress number 2...but you need to pick whichever one YOU like best and you feel the most comfortable in...whether or not it will take 100000 alterations.
