Dress Prices

Please don't respond if you are not comfortable revealing this information.

I am just curious to know how much everyone is spending on their wedding gowns . . . I guess I am just trying to figure out what I should expect so that I can budget accordingly.

If you can, would you please post the designer of your dress, and how much you are paying (have paid)? Thanks Girls!

okay, i am going to start this by (probably) being the cheapskate of the crowd. I am paying $600 plus alterations for a dress by Mon Cheri

Re: Dress Prices

$549, David's Bridal. Couldn't afford much more if we wanted to actually invite guests to the wedding. Tee hee hee....

Either it was the Vera Wang I had my eye on and just me and FH, or a MUCH less expensive one and actual guests to witness the event!

Re: Dress Prices

I love the off the shoulder! It's a very pretty dress (and you're not a cheapskate, you just found *the* dress at a great price)

Here's a pic of the gown. It was $3600 including alterations and the designer is Amy Michelson. But, I also found another dress that I liked that was $600 and another that was $2200-one was at Priscilla of Boston (If I could have 2 - I would have gotton one of the gowns there too!) and the other was on the website: www.organicweddings.com. You can spend anywhere from $300-300K, it's up to you! No matter what you spend, you can find something beautiful.

Editted to say: check out www.theknot.com and www.weddingchannel.com, you can include a price range as part of your search for gowns. I found a version of my gown on the knot, ended up meeting the designer and buying the dress at Kleinfelds.

I am planning a max of $800. You do what you can do....and at the end of the day as long as you feel beautiful that is what matters not the amount....low or high!

Emma, i have to tell you, i tried that dress on and absolutely LOVED it. My sister didn't stop talking about it. But, it was out of my price range so I had to sadly walk away. I just think that it is the most elegant dress, with the matching shawl and bag it is gorgeous. Good luck.

I haven't settled on my dress yet but narrowed it to 4 that I have to try on (after I lose 10 pounds ) but none of them are over $500

Thank you so much Gerty. This one actually comes with some sort of bolero type jacket which changes the look dramatically. When I tried it on for my mom she flipped out and said oh my god that's it that's it!

Re: Dress Prices

My dress is a Mori Lee gown. It cost me $ 720.00 and my alterations are capped at $ 125.00. There are so many dresses that I am sure you will find something in your price range.

Emma, is that the one with blue beading detail?

I loved it and tried it on. Unfortunately it didn't flatter me.

Re: Dress Prices

I originally was thinking I was going to be spending $1500-$3000 for this Lazaro that I was CRAZY about. But every where I called did not have it.

A co-worker had recommended Lidia's in Copaigue. (I know I always tell this one). When I went there she was just so helpful and did not rush me with anything. When I tried on 'the' dress my mom was like, 'How much?' and I whispered $600. She was amazed because we went in thinking we were going to spend a lot. She also ordered me the same size I had on in the store because it fit perfect. I ordered the headpiece and veil too and it came to under $900.
