Re: dress update PIC ADDED
I had the same panic when I tried my dress on when it first came in (at RK also!). I chose the dress because the sample made my waist look so tiny (which its not). But I couldn't zip it over my rib cage so they ordered me a size 12 which was HUGE on me. So when I went back, it didn't give that same skinny look and I was so disappointed. I posted about it also. But duh, once they fit it... it will be my size and tight again... and then I'll love it! I went back a second time after that to choose a veil and I was ready to see it huge and then I loved it. The panic is normal.

Your dress is gorgeous but, if your not happy with it now...you don't want to take the chance that you may look back on your weding day and think 'I should have done this differently' especially after all the money you will be spending in the big picture.

i love that dress and i think it looks great on you, but like everyone else said you need to be totally happy with it. Alterations will make a huge difference, and you already do look amazing in it!

I want to see pics- everyone is always their worst critic! It's two sizes bigger which means I am sure it doesn't fit well at all. Did you have them put clips on the visualize the dress as if it fit?
ETA: I just saw the updated picture. GIRL it's a beautiful dress!!!! You are seeing it before it's steamed and altered. When it is, you are going to love it!

Martha, looking at your pics .. the dress look so pretty!!!! It def needs to be altered though and Im sure you will love it.. Did the salon use thoes big clips to show you what it will look like when its altered, more or less? that will show you want it will look like and give you a better idea ... the dress really is beautiful!
You really look amazing!!!!!!!! I think you should keep it but you have to be happy with it.

when i went to my first fitting, i hated my dress...and it was really too late then (my first fitting was the end of nov with wedding in jan). but, at the second fitting, when it was taken in and fit, i was in love all over again. there's a reason you chose that dress to begin with! good luck!

it looks great!
if you want to 'add' curves, have the seamstress sew bra/padding directly into the dress. Also, maybe they can modify the dress slightly to give it a deeper sweetheart neckline, that will give the impression of more curves.
ITA!
I see what you are saying.. but I think doing that to the sweetheart neckline will work. And one other thing... if your up for altering this.. but you will get more curves if that bottom string of crystals or beads wasn't straight but rather a V line... where it came down lower in the center and higher on the sides. Does that make sense? I think that will make you waiste look more hourglass like. Just a slight modification in that area would make a HUGE difference!
Overall it's a great dress and you have a great body! I wish I had your problem! I have too many curves! More like mountains of fat! Ha ha ha!

I am built like you but bigger on top. But I have the no hip problem too. BUT once it's ALTERED..you will be fine. Tell them HOW you want it to look. Also, if the back is tied differently, it might work. Tell them to tie it like a corset which pulls at waist and makes hips bigger!!!!
