Duet vs. 3 Courses?
Is anyone doing the 2 course dinner (it seems like a popular offering now) so you can dance more? Or the regular 3 courses?

Ours is a salad/appetizer duet, followed by an intermezzo course, then dinner, and then Viennese/dessert.

Duet vs. 3 Courses?
We haven't talked about it in a long time, but I think I'd like to do just the duette course and the main course. My venue is going to have SO MUCH FREAKIN FOOD at cocktail hour that people are going to be stuffed already, and I want to minimize the interruptions anyway.

We had a salad, appetizer then the entree, but made it a duet and combined the salad and appetizer into an appetizer over greens.

I'm doing the duet...there's so much food at cocktail hour people will be full plus they don't have to keep sitting for meals through out the night. I barely eat the meal at any wedding because cocktail hour is always so good!!

This exactly!! I have been to sososo many italian weddings where we have four courses and by the time we are FINALLY done eating, it's so late that we only get to dance and have fun for like an hour before the wedding ends. I also feel that it's so much time that the DJ isn't doing the job he's paid to do, because while you sit for courses they don't usually play 'party' music, so it's just really boring and drawn out.
Most of the weddings of our friends were duets and they were the most fun because we were all on the dance floor alot, so that's why I'm going to do that as well.

we are doing salad - passed intermezzo on the dance floor and then main course... to second what everyone else said, cocktail hour is always amazing and no-one needs all that food before dinner

I am leaning towards the duet also. If we add a pasta course, then I will definitely do the duet. I never eat my salad at weddings, but I know that some people would probably enjoy it.

Duet vs. 3 Courses?
We are only doing two courses and we are doing it kind of differently. Everyone will get a salad as their first course and immediately following the salad the dinner will be served. I don't like the big breaks in between the courses. I feel like it ruins the flow of the party. Also, all our guests will be given the same meal (with the exception of our vegetarians). Everyone will be plated filet mignon and chicken. The wait staff will also be walking around with lobster tail. I choose to do this because the kitchen will be well prepared because they will know what everyone is having and will be able to serve it right after the first course. This is more of a European style reception since the meal is served in one sitting and the remaining of the night is for dancing.

We're having like a 4 course meal and an unbelievable amount of cocktail hour food. If we had the option to save $ and do less food I would have but it's all included where we're getting married

We're doing salad/appetizer then they are handing out intermezzo while everyone is on the dance floor then main course. I didn't want my wedding to feel like a big sit down dinner so I thought this was the best option.Welcome New Vendors
