Just blocked my rooms. Got 10 rooms for $183.00 a piece. Not bad. I already have people calling to reserve them.
I don't like how they don't refund the deposit until 2 weeks B4 the wedding. Shouldn't you get the $$ back as soon as all the rooms book up?? hmmm.
Anyway, the lady is Michelle Testa for those who were wondering in previous posts. I saw her again at the Showcase and she was sweet as usual.
I also found out that so far I'm the only bride for my date at the Inn.
I also decided to go with high centerpieces. I think they make my room (Southhampton) look very elegant.
We need to block rooms as well...I hate their strict policy on blocking/deposits, etc. If you block w/ a credit card, does that mean you pay interest on the amount up until 2 weeks before the wedding??
We also decided to get ready at the Inn since our ceremony is there as well.

Re: East Wind Brides
Ok...I called the planner and spoke to Joseph. He said that the 'girls nite out' is a planning seminar and they serve cheese and champagne and they go over all the services that we need to get for the wedding day with tips and hints. He said that there will be representatives from photographers and DJs there...he said that there were going to be a few vendors there. It sounds like a mini showcase almost. I signed up for the one on September 22. I asked if I had to pay for this and he told me that it is part of East Winds and that it is included. I figure that I need all the help I can get . I hope to see some of you girls there... I don't wanna be sitting in a room all by myself half bombed on champagne.

oh...he also said that if I didnt want to go to the Girls Nite Out that I could do a personal appointment with him instead where he goes over all the same planning stuff.

Re: East Wind Brides
I went to the planning appt last night with Joe & Chris. It was very informative. They went over all the vendors they recommend, explained how they differ, and set up appts for me to interview them.
They also answered any misc questions I had and we started looking at invitations.
FYI, I spoke with someone at the Inn and they said the bridal suite you get is just the standard room. If you want to upgrade to the Ambassador suite its $300. I was surprised because when I booked I thought they told me you automatically get the Ambassador suite. WHATEVER!

I dont want to sound stupid but what does 'bump' mean?
Not a stupid question at all...there are plenty of acronyms and phrases here that I have yet to figure out!
When someone 'bumps' a message, it moves it (bumps it) to the top of the message board so it becomes one of the most recent posts.
BUMP = Bring Up My Post.
LOL!
Thanks Kris! I had the right idea, not the right definition. I'm still so clueless to a lot of these abbreviations!!!

Re: East Wind Brides
they cant guarantee the ambassador cause there could be three weddings at a time and only 1 suite... I tried to get it, months ago- but i guess not with enough time because another bride had it already! Oh well, i wish I did but the standard rooms really are beautiful too!

This happened to me too! Book early for the Ambassador suite! And yes the 'standard' rooms are exceptional! After all, the rooms are almost $300 per night depending on the season!

Re: East Wind Brides
We went with the standard room as well. Our reception ends at midnight, and we'll be getting up for brunch the next day with the family, so we figured the standard room would suffice.
Besides...I'm more concerned about where I'll be sleeping on my HM than on my wedding night! Ohh did I just write that???

Re: East Wind Brides
Girls I have a question, we have two bartenders during the reception right? Also, drinks are brought to the table right? I did not have this written in my contract should I have? OMG did I screw up some how?

Re: East Wind Brides
I am almost positive it is 2 bartenders and going to the table is standard, i dont think it needs to be in the contract...

Great! It makes me so nervous every time of think of something and every time I review my contract! Are you going to Rolling Pin before the final menu selection to sample their cakes? We have to pick the cake we want at that final selection!

Re: East Wind Brides
The Estate at East Wind bride here! June 10, 2006! East Wind Rocks! The only house vendor I picked is Tommy Tunes. I am very happy with them. I am also happy about the room at the Inn. This way I don't have to worry about driving, I can just walk over in my wedding dress at the end of the night! However, my family didn't get a block of rooms b/c they didn't like the whole deposit idea. Instead they got a block of rooms at the Hampton Inn. Now they are figuring out some sort of transportation back to the hotel for our guests? Any suggestions?
I heard the Rolling Pin is great! I work in Setuaket and that is where the bakery is located. I asked people I work with who live in the area how it is and they said I will have no problems and have a great cake.
I still can't get over the amount of food we get at the East Wind. My parents want to get the chocolate fountain. I want to get it too, but I am nervous with my nice white dress and chocolate. I can be very sloppy and messy at times! .
Well I love to talk about the East Wind. So keep it going ladies!
