Re: East Wind vs. Giorgio's
If you love Giorgios I would go back and try to renegotiate with them. Tell them you love Giorgios and want to have your reception there and see if you could work something out. They worked with me on pricing. They are pretty fair, its worth a try if your in love with it. .

Did they give you a price and stick with it...or did they leave room to negotiate?

Re: East Wind vs. Giorgio's
honestly i've been to weddings at both locations and they're both beautiful, both have wonderful food & they both do a wonderful job! i would really just see who offers u more & go from there.. As for having only having one wedding at a time; East Winds three halls are completely separate..different kitchens for each, different staffs for each, and on different parts of their estate..so while they may have two or possibly three weddings that day, u won't run into each other at all(not sure if this goes for 'the inn' as i know that particular hall is huge..but i know it goes for the rest!) good luck with ur decision!

We looked at both Eastwinds and Giorgios. In my opinion, I felt like I wouldnt get the personal attention like I get at Giorgio's. Also, Eastwinds can have up to 3 weddings at one time....I wanted to get married at someplace that was one wedding only. Giorgios is amazing...the food is fabulous and the service is great too! I would go with Giorgio's hands down (and I did). The views are also amazing!
Not if you choose the Estate or Country Gardens.

Re: East Wind vs. Giorgio's
I gave them a list of a couple months in which I'd like my wedding to be....so I was flexible with my date, and they gave me some pricing, I did have to guarantee 130 people but that wasn't a problem for me. I told them what I wanted to stay under (per person) and they said they would try to find a date where they could do that, and they came back with 3 or 4 dates for me to choose from. They also have two packages, a gold and a planetarium which is like a 10 dollar per person difference. The gold package still give you the 1 and 1/2 hour cocktails, champagne and strawberries at the entrance and the exit for your guest, the only difference its only 3 dinner choices and a vegetarian instead of 5 plus the vegetarian.

Thanks for your feedback. This is helpful. I wish I wasnt so set on a Fall wedding b/c I know they have more flexibility in the winter months. Regardless I love Giorgio's and I really think it will be worth the money. What other places did you consider?

We looked at Timber Point, Hamlet Willow Creek (which was beautiful just expensive). We looked at Window on the Lake, and Watermill. I love how Giorgios is sort of secluded, its not on a busy road, its one wedding at a time, and again I think they have a good way of making you feel like your wedding is very important to them. Our main thing was, we didn't want the typical RH that cranks out weddings and treats its customers like they are just a number, we wanted something private, and the food had to be amazing, and Giorgios was all of that and more.

I'm on the same page as you. The room is beautiful...and I love how it's very private and the grounds are pretty. And working with the owners is really important to me. Good luck with your wedding!!

Both places are beautiful.I loved Giorgio's. Great menu, one wedding at a time, a lot of options.
East Wind is beautiful as well.
But you can't compare them on the same scale.
Re-look at both place before you make you decision.

I am totally biased because I just had my wedding at Giorgio's. Both places are beautiful and you will have fantastic food and both as well. Good luck!

LOVE Giorgio's....just so gorgeous. Personally I'm not a fan of the decor at East Wind, and the fact that they have more than one wedding at a time.
Just to point out though, each wedding has its own property so you never see another wedding going on.
Being an EW bride myself Im obviously voting for it. They are beyond helpful and even my other vendors said that they like working with EW. It's such a unique setting; not just a big catering hall with different rooms. The food is great and the staff is so helpful and pleasant to work with.
We went to a wedding at Giorgio's and nothing was really special about it. We weren't fond of the layout either. IMO.

that's also what we loved about it... we loved that you were in your own little world back there on the golf course. They totally treat you like family!! My dad had been friends with George Sr's nephew for 25 years, so that probably helped, but I hear they are great with all of their couples!

Re: East Wind vs. Giorgio's
My daughter's wedding is tomorrow at Giorgio's. they have been the most wonderful people to deal with through the year. As others have said, it is a family run business and each and every staff member that works for them treats you like you are very special. We went yesterday to drop things off and someone from the kitchen helped us carry packages. They were busy trimming the gardens and getting ready for this weekends weddings. Giorgio and George Jr. are both very nice men, businessmen yes but there is a warmth about them that makes you feel very comfortable when you are there.I truly feel very relaxed about tomorrow because I am not worrying about a thing as far as Giorgio's goes. It's in their hands and from what I have heard from everyone that has been there.....we don't have anything to worry about.
The new patio and gazebo...that was shipped over from Florence, Italy is gorgeous. While the grounds are not as large as East Wind...it is the intimacy that my daughter liked. She always wanted a place that was one wedding at a time.
Both places are beautiful...you really can't go wrong but you have to follow your heart....which one gives you that special feeling when you walk in? Where do you feel more comfortable? Since your wedding is not in the heart of wedding season, you can deal more on the price. Good luck in your decision. If you want to FM me after tomorrow I can tell you more about Giorgios.
