Ebay- Payment Method
Hi.I am thinking of taking some of you guys advice and exploring the options on Ebay.
My question is what type of payment method do you guys use? Is is safe to use credit card?
Sorry if this is a silly question, but I am new to online buying it took me awhile to get over my paranoia.
Thanks.

Re: Ebay- Payment Method
Pay Pal, which is the way many many sellers accept credit cards is VERY safe. I've used it for years.

Re: Ebay- Payment Method
I just bought something from them the other day for the first time. I just checked out the company first to see what kind of reviews and rating they had. As long as they have good ratings, I figured it would be okay.

Re: Ebay- Payment Method
Currently Pay Pal is a separate company. Ebay bought them though, and it will become integrated soon. For the moment, you need to do a separate registration process. To summarize how it works, PayPal acts as a middle-man for payments. Most ebay sellers are individuals who don't own large businesses and wouldn't otherwise be able to take credit cards. So, you give your credit card info to Pay Pal and they then pay the person you are buying from (minus fees). So, your credit card info doesn't go to some random person, it goes to this well-established company who then releases the funds to the random ebay seller you buy from. PayPal protects buyers as well, if you don't get your item you can file a complaint for a refund. Buyers pay no fee for the service. A percentage is taken from what the sellers get.
