EDITED Am I overreacting? (I spoke up)

Never mind - I spoke to my stepmom and we came up with another plan

I think that is totally unacceptable for your step sister to crash your Dad's birthday party for her own needs to be recognized. I would be angry too.

Sorry you feel bad, but maybe she was just offering up an idea on how to get your Dad to the boat? If it will make you feel better tell your step mom you already have an idea on how to get him there, but thanks!

it sounds like that cancer society idea came out of left field... what does that have to do with your dad's 60th b-day party? I don't get it. Is it a way to get a cheaper per person rate? Is it a way to get your dad on the boat? Is it a way to recognize your dad or your sister? It should be all about your dad. I'd be just as confused as you are...

Yeah I spoke to my stepmom.... Thanks ladies...She took a noncommital approach, but I think she heard me and we'll probably say its someone else's surprise party....

I'm glad you said something, it's your idea and you wanted to do something special. I was responding as you edited....
